Job Description

Reporting into the Reliability and Test Engineering group, the Reliability Engineering Leader directs Keurig’s Appliance Reliability Program across At-Home and Away From Home product families. Ultimately accountable for component, subsystem and system-level reliability models, the Reliability Engineer exercises influence over cross-functional product development teams to drive reliability life testing, life cycle modeling and field failure data analysis. Managing work both locally and overseas is a key component of the role, as is writing life test protocols, overseeing test equipment development, supervising test execution, conducting failure analyses and establishing a FRACAS strategy. The Reliability Engineer leverages broad technical experience and analytical skillsets to optimize testing across risk, resource, and time constraints. The position requires expertise with design failure mode effects analysis (DFMEA), root cause analysis, data analytics and statistics, and an understanding of thermo-fluidic and electro-mechanical devices. Comfort working in a highly dynamic and collaborative work environment is a must.

What you will do:

  • Develop test methods, equipment and plans to inform component, subsystem and brewer-level failure analysis
  • Utilize reliability statistics to identify trends and provide clear synopsis of risk
  • Manage several projects simultaneously, often acting as a consultant or technical lead
  • Provide work leadership and training to lower level professional and technical staff.
  • Determine root cause physics of failure and provide recommended corrective actions
  • Utilize warranty data, failure analysis and cross-functional input to develop product requirements in support of Keurig’s attribute leadership strategy
  • Establish standard procedures for risk assessment and conduct training and facilitation of DFMEA activities
  • Develop Accelerated Life Test plans to meet project deliverables
  • Assist in the creation of brewer Design Validation Plans (DVPs) and lead FRACAS implementation efforts for New and Sustaining Product Development projects
  • Participate in technical design reviews to assess project status and design readiness
  • Document and present results and insights through formal reports and reviews
  • Follow all Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures
  • Other duties as assigned


What you must have:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Master’s preferred
  • 5+ years of engineering-related work experience in reliability and testing
  • Experience with Reliasoft products, Minitab or JMP
  • Six Sigma Green Belt, Black Belt or equivalent preferred. ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer desirable.
  • Knowledge of basic statistical methods, Compound Events and System Modeling, Hypothesis Testing.
  • Expertise in Reliability Modeling: Non-parametric, Weibull and Weibayes analysis, Risk forecasting, Systems Engineering,  Reliability Allocation: Boundary and Parameter Diagrams; Mean Time Failure; Physics of Failure; Robust Design
  • Life Testing and Reliability Demonstration: Accelerated and Highly Accelerated Life Test; Environmental Stress Testing; Design of Experiments; Reliability Demonstration Testing
  • Corrective Action Processes: Root-cause Analysis; FRACAS; A3’s and 8D Problem Solving
  • Self-motivated and results oriented approach with a demonstrated ability to collaborate cross-functionally
  • Continuous improvement and LEAN mentality
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to uphold safety standards, participate in continuous process improvement on the job, and follow best practices
