Job Description



In the Quality Assurance Specialist III position, you will lead and facilitate the focus on attainment and maintenance of Federal, State and Local Regulatory agencies as well as maintenance of Global Food Safety Initiative (GFSI) certification for the Distribution Center site operations. You will be responsible for the Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) plan validation, Food Safety and Food Quality Plans that meet GFSI guidelines and supports our leadership in the specialty beverage industry. You will perform facility audits, manage the site sanitation program, and maintain essential documentation as required for 3rd parties. You will work with Plant Quality Assurance Teams, HACCP Teams, Plant Internal Audit Teams, Production, Maintenance, Facilities and Multi-Site Quality Support Groups to define objective quality standards, monitor performance to these standards, identify opportunities for improvement and monitor the implementation of corrective and preventative actions.

What you will do:

  • Lead the development and implementation of Food Safety Fundamentals, Food Safety Plan and Food Quality Plan for maintaining Safe Quality Food (SQF) Level 3 Certification for the site and to meet all Keurig Dr Pepper requirements related to quality and food safety programs. 
  • Champion the education and training of personnel on quality auditing practices and standards.
  • Facilitate, oversee the development, implementation, review and maintenance of the SQF Level 3 System.
  • Oversee plant relationship with SQF Certification Body.
  • Directs pest control programs for the plant, per SQF guidelines.
  • Collaborate with the Multisite Quality and Supplier Quality Teams to ensure products meet specifications, and are manufactured, stored and distributed using an internal system that conforms to the requirements of SQF Level 3 (GFSI).
  • Act as internal audit program Subject Matter Expert and directly manage the facility Internal Audit Teams.
  • Effectively communicate across the organization with all executive levels and operational management on the compliance status.
  • Maintain compliance for non-saleable Trial work, ensuring Food Safety & Food Quality concerns are documented and addressed.
  • Design, manage and maintain the plant’s Master Sanitation Schedule (MSS) to cover the entire manufacturing facility-including production, warehouse, utilities, engineering and plant perimeter; ensures compliance and reporting to plant management.
  • Identify and communicate any potential Food Safety or Food Quality concerns.
  • Validate changes to Food Safety and Food Quality Plans.


Requirements

What you must have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Chemistry, Food Safety or related field preferred.
  • 5 plus years of a progression of quality systems management in a manufacturing environment under USDA and/or FDA and HACCP. CPG industry experience is highly desired.
  • Certified SQF Practitioner (desired), Certified HACCP Training, and Certified Auditor Training or/ equivalent certifications.
  • Demonstrated successful experience and abilities in the areas of: Sustainability, Quality Management Systems and applications (ISO 9001, Lean, Six Sigma, GFSI, etc.), food regulatory and microbiology.
  • Advanced analytical, problem solving, facilitation and communication skills
  • Demonstrated Project Management experience as Project Leader and act as a cross-functional team participant.
  • Demonstrated skill to persuade/influence both internally and externally to the function and organization.
  • Competent in the use of MS Office suite, PeopleSoft and SAP preferred.
  • Must be able to work extended hours and/or off shifts as required to ensure optimal success for the department, plant and company.
