Job Description

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for supporting the Essex, VT site from a Quality perspective. This position analyzes and solves quality problems, prepares procedures, trains on quality-related tasks, performs audits, analyzes quality data, applies quality tools and fundamental statistical methods for process control, and reports regularly on quality issues. This position promotes and supports Keurig Dr Pepper’s continuous improvement efforts and initiatives, supporting the Keurig Dr Pepper Operations in all aspects of Quality and the Company Purpose and Principles.

What you will do:

  • Troubleshoot, analyze and resolve quality issues utilizing various quality tools and techniques.
  • Drive implementation of effective corrective and preventive actions.
  • Regularly utilize systems such as SAP, Interspec, MES, and Trackwise for daily Quality tasks.
  • Revise site procedure and protocol documents under guidance from other Quality team members.
  • Manage the implementation of Quality plans.
  • Train cross-functional team members in basic quality principles, tools, and processes to ensure procedures and policies are compliant with Keurig Dr Pepper standards and customer specifications.
  • Support quality activities focused on product quality and reliability improvement efforts, as well as trials and test runs for material, process, product, and/or suppliers.
  • Develop, maintain, and communicate quality information records and reports which adequately communicate production capabilities, quality issues, priorities and status.
  • Test Finished Goods according to a regular/randomized schedule to aid quality assurance efforts.
  • Support the team to ensure plant is “inspection ready” in preparation for third-party, Partner, regulatory and certification audits, and support the Essex SQF Practitioner in any other compliance and auditing functions as needed.
  • Provide expertise and guidance in interpreting policies to assure compliance or certification requirements such as: Kosher, organic, Fair Trade, etc.
  • Represent Essex with Corporate Quality functions as needed
  • Perform other duties as requested by management



  • Bachelors degree preferred, and/or equivalent work experience or professional certifications
  • 3+ years work experience preferred, with knowledge of the Food industry, experience in a production environment, and/or specific experience within a Quality function.
  • Certifications in HACCP, SQF, or ASQ focus areas are a plus
  • Technical skills and QA Lab tools experience – broad exposure base desired.
  • Previous experience using systems such as SAP, Interspec, MES, and/or Trackwise is preferred.
  • Must be proficient with all Microsoft Office product tools; statistical/analytical experience using Excel desired.
  • Coffee sensory process experience desired.
  • High level of self-initiative, ability to work independently, comfortable dealing with ambiguity and able to multi-task and prioritize effectively in a dynamic environment.
  • Effective problem solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to get along with others, is punctual, dependable and able to follow instructions.
  • Ability to uphold Safety standards, participates in Continuous Process Improvement on the job, and follows our Manufacturing best practices.
  • Ability to follow Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures as well as our Operating principles.
