Job Description

The Customer Service Representative will verify date and routing requirements and release orders to the warehouse in a timely fashion; accurately input customer required data on shipping documents; provide prompt customer service to customers, carriers and internal departments. Work cooperatively with supervisors to ensure deadlines are met and issues are promptly addressed.

Shift & Schedule: 

This position is working on our 2nd shift, Monday-Friday from 2:00pm-10:30pm.


  • Analyze group and release orders in JDEdwards system to the warehouse.
  • Work with other departments to ensure customer and carrier guidelines and timeframes are met.
  • Interact with customers on the phone and electronically regarding specific shipping requirements, scheduling and determining the status of purchase orders. Work with customers to resolve specific issues.
  • Schedule shipments with carriers both verbally and electronically using customer software tools. Discuss and resolve specific issues with carriers.
  • Interface with onsite carriers over the phone and in person concerning delivery, pick up locations and paperwork. Obtain proper identification documents and direct drivers to proper dock doors.
  • Ensure all customer requirements are present on paperwork and for sending ASNs.
  • Work with Asset Protection and Supervisors to ensure MBS security and safety policies are followed for inbound and outbound shipments.
  • Create picking and shipping documents for both automated and manual shipments.
  • Report issues to Assistant Operations Manager as soon as they become a concern.
  • Other duties as assigned by Management.

Additional Expectations:

  • Occasional overtime will be required.
  • Work in an environment with marked changes in temperature, humidity, and exposure to dust.
  • Responsible for hearing (with or without aids) equipment approaching, alarms, and verbal warnings.
  • Will be expected to repetitively lift/carry 35+ pounds throughout the shift.

  • Ability to work efficiently and effectively with computer software programs including JDEdwards, Excel, Outlook and customer and carrier specific software programs.
