Job Description



As a compliance engineer, you will work closely with cross functional teams local and abroad, to deliver exciting new products for one of the world’s largest beverage companies. You will be the subject matter expert with regards to regulatory compliance and approvals delivering safe appliances to the marketplace. You will consult with engineers providing them with recommendations on how to design and operate our machines. Interpreting and understanding regulations and how they are best implemented is a key part of this role. Proactive engagement with agencies and upcoming rule requirements is a must. Communication, collaboration and influence are key attributes for success.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and establish sufficient regulatory certification procedures and processes that result in timely, successful listing of products.
  • Maintain internal collaboration with KDP functional areas requiring compliance support. Provide guidance to the appliance product development teams. 
  • Manage regulatory files and databases ensuring correct listings renewals and that engineering change notices are up to date with all jurisdictional levels.
  • Maintain ongoing knowledge of domestic/global compliance regulatory organizations, their directives and processes i.e. (UL, NSF, CE, KC, IEC, EU, TUV, FDA, AHAM, NAMA, EMC, RoHS etc.)
  • Participate in regional and international regulatory creation and processes used to improve the visibility of changes and to influence favorable outcomes.
  • Establish and maintain requisite corporate memberships with regulatory organizations.
  • Conduct/facilitate training across the organization as required.
  • Be the regulatory knowledge resource for our New Product Development activities.
  • Track and evaluate certification costs and agency fees taking into account cost reduction opportunities.
  • Keep up to date with agency regulations and future modifications maintaining your industry expertise.


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering
  • 3+ years or relevant experience
  • Thorough understanding of North American Safety and Regulations for home appliances
  • Experience with standard agencies and regulations such as UL, CSA, NSF and FDA
  • Understand and be able to interpret rules that will guide design engineering decisions
  • Familiarity with test methods and equipment
  • Experience working with a global team and matrixed environment
  • Experience working with and influencing suppliers to achieve results
  • Highly motivated individual with a passion for safety
  • Strong project management, organizational leadership, and documentation skills
  • Ability to multitask and maintain focus on priorities
  • Experience in food, Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) or appliance manufacturing industries is a plus
  • Travel up to 10%
  • Ability to follow Keurig Dr. Pepper policies and procedures
