Job Description

The Machine Operator Best Practice is responsible for operating assigned stations and all other associated work including preventative maintenance, machine changeovers, making minor adjustments to maintain greatest operational efficiency, assist other mechanics, etc.

  • Understands entire line operation and offers assistance where necessary
  • Maintains the lines with supplies needed for production
  • Supports Electro-Mechanical Technician (EMT) with electrical/mechanical breakdowns
  • Supports other operators on PM, adjustment and repair procedures, and changeovers of line equipment for different products and/or sizes
  • Assumes responsibility of the line in the absence of the lead and can operate all equipment on the line
  • Assists the training of new operators
  • Performs monthly safety inspections
  • Provides breaks to operators
  • Plan and carry out line improvement projects
  • Operate a forklift as required
  • Highly motivated in supporting a safe, efficient, and successful workplace
  • 5s and Total Productive Maintenance activities
  • Ability to work in a team environment and serve as a role model


  • 3 years of high-speed production machinery and monitoring product quality
  • 2 years of experience with mechanical troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and line changeovers
  • Lift, push, and pull a minimum of 60 pounds repeatedly, walking and standing for long period of time
