Job Overview:

Location: 4363 Route 104, Williamson, NY 14589

Shift & Schedule: This is a full-time, day-shift position. Typical hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required as scheduled.

The Senior Shipping & Receiving Specialist is responsible for shipping, receiving, returns, carrier coordination, order management, product handling, and customer service. This role ensures the prompt, accurate, and systematic handling of finished goods and raw materials while delivering a high level of internal and external customer service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Confirm daily loads to prevent material shortages

  • Ensure proper material handling and storage practices

  • Conduct and support supplier pallet audits

  • Print and post pick tickets, inbound dock schedules, and STO reports for the current and next production day

  • Check truck drivers in and out using Carrier Point (Ryder logistics software)

  • Assign and support material handlers and shipping/receiving personnel during loading and unloading

  • Verify outbound loads for accuracy and completion of required documentation

  • Communicate missing or late inbound loads to inventory control and production planning

  • Maintain 5S standards in warehouse and production areas; perform general cleaning as required

  • Review trailer inventory using WD yard reports and production needs

  • Issue and verify HUM labels for production and shipments

  • Conduct root cause analysis related to shipping, receiving, or inventory issues

  • Report dock and building mechanical issues to maintenance for repair

  • Participate in Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives

  • Support new procedures to improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness

  • Assist with cycle counts and year-end inventory activities

  • Provide coverage for inventory control, shipping/receiving, and material handling as needed

  • Support shipping and receiving clerks and material handlers to meet OEE goals

  • Communicate loading delays to carriers and customers

  • Unload incoming raw materials and ingredients

  • Train and support new employees

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required

  • Forklift certification preferred

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in logistics or shipping and receiving

  • Strong math skills

  • Effective oral and written communication skills in English; Spanish bilingual skills a plus

  • Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems preferred

  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word

  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 60 pounds repeatedly; capable of standing and walking for extended periods
