Shift and Schedule: We currently have an opening on 2nd Shift; 2-10PM. This facility does run 24/7. Monday - Friday schedule. Flexibility and availability to work Saturdays, overtime and holidays based on business needs.
Compensation: This is a full time, Union role $33.32/hr
Facilities Maintenance Mechanic or General Mechanic
Position Responsibilities:
- Skilled food processing mechanic specializing in welding, plumbing, and boiler operation and repair.
- Broad general knowledge of welding techniques (i.e. MIG, TIG, Sanitary Stick, etc.) and must be able to apply these techniques to various operations within the plant.
- General knowledge of various power tools and be able to operate these tools in a safe and proficient manner.
- Proficient in blueprint reading, equipment fabrication, equipment installation, fork lift operation, and lathe operation.
- Ability to perform plumbing related to the food processing operation.
- Proficient in the following areas:
- Installation of all water, drain, boiler, HVAC, air compressors, condensate, natural gas, refrigeration, hot water baseboard, and all related systems.
- Proficient in pump repairs.
- Knowledgeable and proficient in all phases of plumbing.
- Assist in budgeting of plumbing supplies and inventory controls of same.
- Knowledgeable in roof repairs and building maintenance.
- Can work from simple blueprints or sketches.
- Keep work area clean and orderly.
Total Rewards:
- Pay starting at $33.32 per hour

Requirements:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
- 2 years of experience working in maintenance in a large production facility.
- 2 years of working knowledge of HVAC systems.
- 2 years of working knowledge of plumbing systems.
- 2 years of experience welding.
- 2 years of experience operating and repairing boilers and steam systems.
- Lift, push, pull a minimum of 50 lbs repeatedly.
