Route Planner Flex Specialist 

Overview

Routing Specialists are responsible for creating expert level delivery routing solutions for assigned Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) distribution.  Flex Specialists must be highly proficient in all routing delivery methods (GEO, Bulk, Bay, & FSV), and highly versed in all systems (Descartes Route Planner, BlackBox, Route Manager). The responsibilities include vacation, leave, and time-off coverage for Route Planners, providing training support as needed. While covering schedules, the Flex Specialists accountabilities include flawless execution of the delivery routing process while ensuring that cost and productivity objectives are achieved. 

Flex Specialists use analytics to identify productivity opportunities for Route Planners as well as the Routing Organization more broadly. They also must influence field partners to execute changes that improve delivery operations. Flex Specialists communicate proactively, positively, and concisely with field partners at region, area, and location level while demonstrating a continuous improvement mindset and adhering to our company values.

Responsibilities

  • Weekly / Daily coverage of Route Planner schedules
  • Dispatch daily routing using specialized routing software and tools tailored to KDP
  • Communicate daily with locations to coordinate resources, drivers and trucks, and specific customer delivery needs and routing solution effectiveness
  • Solve daily routing solutions based on daily workload, tight geographical areas, proper sequencing, balanced workload, and customer/driver continuity
  • Ensure routing solution complies with DOT hour and weight regulations
  • Ensure routing solution achieves location productivity targets for hours, stops, and cases
  • Meet location and routing productivity targets
  • Handle customer and Internal employee interactions in a professional manner
  • Recognize potential issues and solve problems as they arise
  • Support larger Centralized Routing Initiatives as needed
  • Support regular score-carding, analytics, and field review

Total Rewards:
  • $68,000 - $73,000 / year
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors

  • Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility

Requirements:
  • 2+ years of dynamic routing experience within the Centralized Routing department or 3+ years equivalent industry level experience with Dispatching / Logistics Routing 
  • Demonstrated consistent execution of the routing process and mastery of Route Planner role
  • Bachelor’s degree or demonstrated equivalent relevant logistics job experience
  • Advanced MS Office Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Willingness and availability to adapt to a flexible workweek. Must be willing and available to work any schedule, including evening & weekend schedules with short notice
  • Travel required up to 20-30%
