SUMMARY:  The Production Technician III is responsible for operating and monitoring production machinery to maximize production and maintaining Keurig’s high standards of safety and quality. This role will also be responsible for coaching, mentoring, auditing and facilitating others in applying knowledge of manufacturing processes to the improvement of safety, quality delivery cost and culture. This position actively participates and contributes at the site level of impact across key plant metrics and balanced scorecard goals.

Shift/Schedule: This is a full-time position working our Days D2 Shift. This shift works 12 hour rotating shift on the 2-2-3 schedule. Flexibility to work outside of normal schedule, including weekends and holidays, is required as needed.

What you will do:

Safety

  • Role Model for communicating, demonstrating and supporting safe behaviors.
  • Actively coach and develops Safety Observations and Peer to Peer  coaching/feedback.
  • Active participant of Safety Steering, 
  • Actively schedules, organizes, and leads risk reduction process (i.e. hazard hunts, risk assessments, job hazard analysis, PPE assessments, etc.)
  • Safety or Environmental program Owner/co-owner         

Quality

  • Coaching and mentoring of Quality Data Set, Safe Quality Food, Good Manufacturing Practices and Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point systems.
  • Uses lean tools and data for predictive analysis and implementation of corrective actions
  • Leads layered internal audits
  • Leads Root Cause Corrective Analysis /Corrective Action & Preventive Action  activities with the team
  • Trains Production Technician I and IIs in Root Cause Corrective Analysis skills, facilitation and leading.
  • Role Model for understanding and demonstration of ownership of quality metrics.
  • Role models SQF standards and facilitates the preparation and maintenance of standards relative to audits and compliance

Delivery

  • Coaching and teaching others in the Daily Management Systems particularly in determining root cause, concise problem statements & developing corrective action plans, escalating to zone or maintenance as appropriate.
  • Generating data for plant and zone board. Identifying trends in data and proposing action steps.
  • Able to identify and address minor equipment and material issues; make adjustments if applicable. Identify technical issues with or without maintenance.
  • Coordinating and aligning standards between shifts.
  • Define and review, and drive improvements to standard work.
  • Perform standard work audits and identify and address gaps.
  • Cooperate with local and network resources on system updates. Partner with maintenance on the execution of preventative maintenance.  Lead and facilitate improvement activities on issues that cross team and functional boundaries.

Cost

  • Lead Root Cause Corrective on waste reduction initiatives.
  • Participation on plant-wide team focused on waste reduction and continuous process improvement initiatives.
  • Coach & develop cost reduction with others.
  • Active engagement in auditing of countermeasures.

Other necessary functions:

  • Follows all policies, procedures, ergonomic standards and safety requirements directed by Keurig and the department.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Total Rewards

  • Pay starting at $32.47 per hour. The employee will move to a higher rate of $34.17 per hour in the quarter after their 6-month anniversary.

Requirements

What you must have:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude of processing and packaging machine operations; with a preference of 6 years manufacturing experience.
  • Ability to make decisions, communicate and problem solve. Self-motivated team player with a positive attitude.
  • Ability to get along with others, be punctual, demonstrate satisfactory attendance, and follow instructions from others.
  • Strong computer and software skills (Microsoft Office Suite, Enterprise Resource Planning systems, etc), preferred
  • Basic mathematical skills to make production calculations

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Ability to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis and 50 pounds occasionally.
  • Ability to lift, bend, stretch and stand during entire shift.
  • Ability to push/pull up to 1,500 pounds using supplied equipment.
  • Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend, stoop, twist, and reach overhead with repetitive motions.
  • Ability to meet all requirements to wear respiratory protection, as required.
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs.
  • Ability to work in a variety of temperature and humidity conditions.
