Shift & Schedule: Full-time, 3rd shift, Monday – Friday, 9:00 PM – 5:30 AM. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as scheduled is required.

The Chemical Operator ensures production schedules are met by accurately compounding (batch mixing) concentrates and syrups. This role involves extracting flavors, mixing concentrates for intermediate batches, finished extracts, flavor blends, emulsions, and juice products, while maintaining proper documentation to support inventory accuracy and batch traceability. The Chemical Operator also ensures equipment is sanitized and production adheres to quality standards, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and execute the master sanitation schedule while adhering to facility safety practices.

  • Operate sanitation equipment/Clean in Place (CIP) systems and perform product transfers to liquid packaging lines.

  • Use SAP to execute compounding transactions and follow production instruction sheets.

  • Weigh materials and pump ingredients into and out of mixing drums and totes.

  • Ensure product quality by properly sanitizing equipment, following recipes, accurately measuring ingredients, and conducting in-process quality checks. Provide samples for the quality lab as required.

  • Record production information and material usage in SAP to support inventory accuracy and batch traceability. Maintain production logs as necessary.

  • Monitor equipment performance, perform routine maintenance, and collaborate with maintenance technicians to resolve equipment issues.

  • Compound syrups and simple blends, and mix natural and artificial flavors, juices, dyes, and preservatives using shear mixers and homogenizers.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.


Total Rewards:
  • Starting pay: $32.67 per hour plus a $1.50  shift differential. The employee will move to a higher rate of $34.37 per hour in the quarter after their 6-month anniversary.

Requirements:
  • High school diploma or GED required.

  • Minimum 2 years of batching or compounding experience, preferably in a comparable industry.

  • Knowledge of emulsions and experience with homogenizers, extractors, or shear pumps is preferred.

  • Proven computer skills, with the ability to accurately input production data in SAP.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.

  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts and reasoning skills effectively.

  • Forklift certification required; prior forklift experience preferred.

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods in a manufacturing environment.

  • Ability to frequently lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
