The Spartanburg operation is a state of the art coffee roasting and pod packaging facility in addition to hosting a full beverage distribution center. Spartanburg is the largest KDRP manufacturing and distribution location. The site will operate on the foundational principles of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance); leverage the principles of Lean manufacturing and harness the power of High Performance Teams. All associates at the Spartanburg site will have accountability to both a functional business unit in addition to the full site operation. The site will run on state of the art enterprise IT and manufacturing execution systems with highly automated processing, packaging, and material movement equipment.
SUMMARY:
The Commercialization leader / Sr Project Manager leads all strategic and execution aspects of new product introduction, volume shifts or change management projects on a continuous basis. This entails closely working all end to end logistics aspects with corporate functions, internal and external plant members, customers and research and innovations.
This role proactively leads specific commercialization value creation initiatives that directly impact the speed to market or cost competitiveness of our products.
You will also be in a critical role for inspiring teams of highly skilled, highly engaged employees and support a “team of teams” and Business Unit approach that will enable our employees to achieve extraordinary results. You will be part of an operations team that will work collaboratively across all functions to streamline efficiency of production and deliver world class safety, quality, and delivery performance. Working within a highly automated TPM-based environment.
The commercialization leader will be expected to drive disciplined execution of standardized processes through standard work and layered process audits, while teaching and facilitating structured problem solving techniques and process to drive waste out of the system and promote a culture of continuous improvement.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work closely with marketing, commercialization, technical and finance teams to support new product introduction, reformulations and any supply chain improvement projects.
- Act as a liaison with corporate functions for all new product introductions to ensure proper alignment with the plant business plan.
- Support supply point optimization initiatives for the different locations.
- Ensure key personnel is timely informed of new products introductions process
- Ensure high customer engagement levels by continuously supporting our company’s new products introduction process
- Coordinate all new product introduction and change management projects
- Proactively capture, monitor and inform new products forecast performance
- Coordinate procurement of new products materials ensuring on time availability for production
- Ensure new products SAP’s supply chain master data is accurate and updated
- Ensure production plan and manufacturing schedules covers immediate and future demand
- Measure new products key metrics performance vs. goals on a regular basis and present strategies for improvement and sustainability.
- Ensure project sponsor is fully engaged, supportive and clear on project plans, resources and deliverable status.
- Participate in delivering upon the site safety goal of zero injuries by contributing, promoting and supporting safety culture through behavioral safety observations, facilitation of safety meetings.
- Provide leadership and support to operations teams in support of site operational meeting cadence (production planning, TPM Starpoint, mini Business Unit, site leadership, and employee meetings)
- Enable a culture of motivation, coaching and development of diverse, high performing and highly engaged teams to meet established goals and build organizational capability.
Total Rewards:
- Salary Range: $76,400 - $110,000
- Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors

Requirements:
- BS/BA in engineering or business management field preferred.
- Project management professional certification preferred.
- Experience in Food/Beverage manufacturing environment is highly preferred
- Experience with ISO, Lean, Six Sigma, Continuous Improvement strategy and/or TPM Certifications preferred
- 5+ years’ experience in project management or comparable experience.
- Experience managing multi-million dollar capital, expense or commercialization projects.
- Experience with MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Visio) required.
- Some travel may be required (less than 15%)
