Senior Logistics Manager -Southeast region

The Senior Manager of Logistics for the Southeast US region will oversee logistics and supply chain operations across multiple facilities (Spartanburg, SC; Newport, TN; and Knoxville, TN). This role involves managing distribution, warehousing, inventory management, and automation technologies to ensure safe, efficient, and timely delivery of our products. The ideal candidate will have a strong logistics background, proven leadership skills, and experience with automation and automated warehouse systems in a regional, multi-location environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Logistics Operations Management
    • Lead and manage all logistics operations in the Southeast region, including warehousing and distribution.
    • Develop and implement logistics strategies that include automated solutions to optimize route planning, fleet management, and carrier partnerships.
  • Leadership & Team Management
    • Lead a team of logistics managers and support staff across multiple facilities in the Southeast, fostering a culture of collaboration, safety, continuous improvement, and technological advancement.
    • Provide mentorship and development opportunities to logistics teams, ensuring alignment with company goals and performance standards.
    • Implement best practices in logistics and supply chain management to achieve operational excellence.
    • Set clear goals and KPIs for the logistics teams, monitoring performance and providing feedback for improvement.
  • Automation & Technology Integration
    • Ensure automation systems are running efficiently.
    • Optimize warehouse layouts and processes to leverage automation, reducing labor costs, improving accuracy, and increasing throughput.
  • Inventory & Warehouse Management
    • Oversee inventory management to ensure accurate stock levels and efficient distribution from automated and traditional warehouses across the region.
    • Manage multiple warehouse locations, ensuring that all facilities, both automated and manual, operate at peak efficiency and adhere to safety and quality standards.
    • Utilize data-driven KPIs to monitor and improve warehouse operations, such as inventory accuracy, order fulfillment speed, and labor productivity, particularly in automated environments.
  • Budgeting & Financial Performance
    • Prepare and manage the logistics budget for the Southeast region, ensuring alignment with corporate financial targets.
    • Monitor and control logistics expenses, identifying opportunities for cost reductions through automation and operational efficiencies.
    • Drive regional initiatives to improve financial performance, focusing on cost containment, automation ROI, and operational efficiency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in logistics, supply chain management, business administration, or a related field. MBA is a plus.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in logistics, supply chain, or operations management, with at least 3 years in a senior or regional role.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with experience overseeing multi-site logistics operations.
  • Proven experience with automation technologies and automated warehouse systems (e.g., AMRs, LGVs, conveyor systems, etc.).
  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
  • Proficient in logistics software, WMS, and TMS systems, with experience integrating these systems with automation technologies.
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&L statements.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
