This role works with all departments to ensure quality, food safety, environmental and safety programs and systems are in place to ensure customer satisfaction by meeting and/or exceeding all customer requirements. They will develop and sustain the Quality Management System in line with the required industry standards (including: TS16949, ISO14001 / ISO 9001 / OHSA 18001), accreditation requirements and business requirements across the organization through existing and new procedures. This individual will regulate, control and improve the quality of all processes throughout the business and the final product, as well as manage the audit program to ensure that all nonconformities raised against certification bodies during audits are effectively corrected and independently verified. The MSF will embed a culture of continuous improvement throughout the company and lead the team to achieve quality management system targets for customers and business goals.

This role will report directly into the Plant Manager/Director.

Location: This position will be located at our St. Louis, MO plant. 


Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all requirements of the ISO standards are met in order to maintain plant certifications
    • Quality- ISO 9001
    • Food Safety- ISO/TS 22002-1:2009
    • Environmental- ISO 14001
    • Safety- OSHA 18001
  • Ensure all in-house systems and procedures are updated, revised and modified to meet the needs of external certification bodies
  • Site champion for document control, utilizing systems ie ETQ
  • Establish timelines for implementation through steering committee and program owners
  • Train key personnel in all processes
  • Communicate changes in requirements
  • Audit for compliance and adherence to written procedures and requirements
  • Manager compliance audits and inspections-internal and 3rd party (external)
  • Provide technical services and regulatory compliance support
  • Update systems documentation and communicate lessons learned from concerns
  • Ensure corrective actions are taken to address non-conformities
  • Verify closure of non-conformities with Certification Bodies
  • Communicate the management system through handouts, meetings and/or bulletin boards, etc

  • Compensation: This is an exempt, salaried position paid on a biweekly cycle. Compensation is flexible and determined by the candidate's experience level.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent preferred
  • Minimum of 3-years management experience
  • Experience in project management
  • Must have experience in using a Quality or Continuous Improvement system
  • Outstanding communication and training skills
  • Demonstrated organizational skills
  • Detail orientated
  • Computer literature
  • Previous experience in ISO strategy development, implementation and maintenance
  • Knowledge of ISO standards strongly preferred
