Operations Supervisor - Vernon, CA

The Operations Supervisor is responsible for leading day-to-day production activities while ensuring safety, quality, productivity, and cost targets are met. This role directly supervises frontline employees, drives continuous improvement, and ensures operational discipline through standard work, accountability, and strong team engagement.


The Operations Supervisor is expected to lead by example, reinforce a safety-first culture, and execute against site KPIs including SQDPG, OEE, yield, and labor efficiency.

Shift & Schedule: This is a full time position on our Night shift working Sunday - Wednesday 4:30pm - 4:30am. Flexibility for additional coverage outside of these hours, including potential weekends and/or holidays, is also required as needed. 

Position Responsibilities:

Safety & Compliance

  • Lead with safety as the top priority; enforce all safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements
  • Conduct regular safety walks, audits, and incident investigations
  • Ensure near-misses, injuries, and unsafe conditions are reported and addressed immediately
  • Support training and certification requirements (LOTO, forklift, confined space, etc.)

Quality

  • Ensure products meet all quality and food safety standards
  • Enforce adherence to SOPs, centerlines, and quality checks
  • Lead root cause analysis for quality defects and implement corrective actions
  • Partner with Quality to drive zero-defect mindset

Operations & Performance

  • Execute daily production plans to meet volume, efficiency, and cost targets
  • Monitor and drive performance metrics (OEE, downtime, yield, labor)
  • Lead daily tier meetings and communicate priorities clearly to the team
  • Respond to equipment and process issues to minimize downtime
  • Ensure accurate documentation, reporting, and shift handoffs

People Leadership

  • Directly supervise, coach, and develop frontline employees
  • Drive accountability while maintaining high engagement and morale
  • Manage attendance, performance, and discipline in accordance with company policies
  • Support onboarding, training, and cross-training of employees
  • Recognize and reward positive performance and behaviors

Continuous Improvement

  • Lead and support Kaizen events, A3 problem solving, and 5S initiatives
  • Identify and eliminate waste in processes, labor, and materials
  • Sustain improvements through standard work and visual management
  • Partner cross-functionally with Maintenance, Quality, Planning, and Warehouse

Total Rewards:
  • $75,000 - $100,000

Where Applicable: Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors

Requirements:

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED (Bachelor’s degree preferred)
  • 2+ years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing or operations environment
  • Strong understanding of safety, quality, and production systems
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, 24/7 environment
  • Strong communication, decision-making, and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency with production metrics and basic computer systems

Preferred

  • Experience with Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement tools
  • Beverage, food, or CPG manufacturing experience
  • Experience leading shift teams and managing labor
  • Knowledge of union environments (if applicable)

Physical & Work Requirements

  • Ability to work extended hours, weekends, and holidays as needed
  • Ability to walk production floors and stand for extended periods
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs with or without reasonable accommodation
