Manufacturing Training Coordinator / Associate Maintenance  Planner

Position Summary

The Associate Maintenance Planner / Manufacturing Training Coordinator supports the execution of site-wide workforce capability development and TPM initiatives through coordination of training programs, competency development activities, and Education & Training (E&T) Pillar objectives. This role serves as an autonomous resource in planning, tracking, and administering training programs that develop employee skills, support operational excellence, and drive TPM pillar maturity. The position partners closely with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, and TPM Pillar leaders to ensure training compliance, competency progression, and successful execution of site development strategies.

Key Responsibilities

Training Program Management

  • Develop, maintain, and administer site training schedules and annual training plans.
  • Coordinate new hire onboarding, skills certification, refresher training, and cross-functional development programs.
  • Track employee training completion, qualifications, certifications, and compliance requirements.
  • Manage training records and ensure documentation accuracy within applicable learning management systems and databases.
  • Coordinate internal and external training resources to support site capability development needs.

TPM Education & Training (E&T) Pillar Support

  • Support planning and execution of the TPM Education & Training (E&T) Pillar roadmap, activities, and improvement initiatives.
  • Support and facilitate the site’s Yellow Belt certification process.
  • Coordinate E&T Pillar meetings, action plans, assessments, audits, and milestone tracking.
  • Maintain TPM training standards, documentation, and pillar evidence required for TPM progression.
  • Assist with workforce development initiatives that support TPM implementation and operational excellence objectives.
  • Track and report E&T Pillar KPIs and improvement activities.

Skills Development & Competency Management

  • Maintain role-based training matrices and employee competency assessments.
  • Partner with subject matter experts to develop, update, and standardize training materials, standard work, and job aids.
  • Identify skill gaps and support the creation of development plans to address workforce capability needs.
  • Monitor progression of operator, technician, and support personnel qualification programs.
  • Autonomously audits and updates role-based training matrices without requiring ongoing leadership follow-up.

Planning & Reporting

  • Generate reports and dashboards related to training compliance, competency progression, and TPM E&T performance metrics.
  • Analyze training effectiveness and identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Support annual training budget planning and resource forecasting activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of training activities, pillar initiatives, and development program outcomes.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Operations, Maintenance, Safety, Quality, HR, and TPM leaders to align training initiatives with business objectives.
  • Support change management and employee engagement activities associated with TPM deployment.
  • Facilitate communication regarding training requirements, pillar initiatives, and workforce development priorities.


Total Rewards:
  • Hourly Rate Range: $26.78 - $39.00
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors

Requirements:
  • Associate degree in Business, Education, Industrial Technology, Facilities, Operations, or related field; or equivalent experience.
  • 2–5 years of experience in training coordination, workforce development, TPM support, maintenance planning, operations support, or continuous improvement environments.
  • Experience managing training records, training matrices, or learning management systems.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and project coordination skills.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (data management, pivot tables), PowerPoint, SharePoint, and workflow tracking databases.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management capabilities.
  • Ability to travel up to 20% as needed to support regional or network initiatives.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting TPM deployment and Education & Training Pillar activities.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and competency management processes.
  • Experience with Learning Management Systems (LMS).
  • Lean, TPM, Six Sigma, or Operational Excellence experience.
  • Certification in Training, TPM, Lean, or Continuous Improvement methodologies.
