Sr Manager, Sales Effectiveness

We are seeking a strategically minded, innovative, people-oriented program manager to support the Sales Effectiveness team’s initiatives to improve the selling & execution capabilities of our DSD (direct store delivery) sales organization. You will play a critical role in improving processes, developing/leveraging best-in-class tools, and creating/delivering training content. You will leverage effective communication & influencing skills to liaise between DSD Sales and IT teams to ensure timely and successful project implementation. Ultimately, your work will help transform the DSD sales function and grow revenue.

Location requirements

  • Role is based in Frisco, TX
  • Willingness to travel up to 20% to attend business-driven meetings/events.

Responsibilities:

Sales Effectiveness Project Management (40%) – Co-lead Sales Effectiveness initiatives alongside the Director of Sales Effectiveness and support projects from business problem identification through implementation of a business solution.

  • Lead multiple projects through the end-to-end development lifecycle from scoping, design, and roll out while ensuring projects contribute to the overall DSD sales strategy.
  • Develop, test, and scale successful pilot projects to the full DSD Sales team.
  • Work cross-functionally with internal key stakeholders from DSD Sales/Operations, Market Development, Channel Strategy/Commercialization, IT, etc. to align on project goals, timelines, and deliverables.
  • Create and/or update training materials and documents as needed.
  • Train and coach our DSD sales teams on new processes and tools using a variety of methods such as individual training, group instruction, demonstrations, simulation exercises, role play, and computer-based training.
  • Ensure adoption and long-term success of new tools/processes.

Digital Excellence Product Owner (40%) – Work closely with IT and serve as the voice of the DSD organization during the development of data-driven tools to enable our DSD organization to sell smarter and service better.

  • Support the DSD digital platforms by representing the business in IT-focused meetings.
  • Apply Agile techniques and concepts to improve & develop enterprise tools that advance our selling and execution capabilities (e.g., MyDay, Insights Tool, etc.).
  • Serve as Product Owner in our Agile process to help manage the intake of project requests, prioritize projects, and track project requests status.
  • Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap in alignment with business goals.
  • Create, prioritize, and maintain the product backlog to ensure the team is focused on delivering high-value features.
  • Define user stories and acceptance criteria; clarify requirements for the development team.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to gather feedback and translate business needs into actionable product requirements.
  • Manage relationships and expectations across cross-functional teams.
  • Participate in sprint planning, demos, and retrospectives; reflect on sprint goals and outcomes.
  • Accept or reject deliverables based on defined criteria and quality standards.

Sales Effectiveness Reporting, Planning, and Communication (20%) – Support the Sales Effectiveness Department to develop holistic data solutions. Synthesize data from multiple sources, analyze results, and communicate results with key stakeholders.

  • Lead Sales Effectiveness Reporting and benchmarking/tracking of key project KPIs.
  • Assist with meeting planning and developing meeting content (AOPs, MORs, Digital Leadership meetings, Project Manager check-ins, etc.).
  • Lead communication to/from the IT Updates email box.
  • Serve as point-of-contact for feedback, suggestions, and updates regarding Sales Effectiveness initiatives.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in DSD sales/analytics or related field.
  • Advanced Proficiency in Microsoft applications – Excel, Outlook, Word, and PowerPoint (experience with Pivot Tables, Writing Functions, and performing V Lookups within Excel).
  • Experience working in an Agile operating model, preferred.

Requirements:

  • Strong project management skills; Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Experience eliciting and documenting user stories and business requirements and translating business requirements into solutions.
  • Experience training/upskilling audiences with a range of skills and learning styles.
  • Experience in public speaking and facilitating/moderating large groups.
  • “Backroom to boardroom” versatility to work effectively with individuals in the field as well as senior executives in the corporate office.
  • Ability to work across multiple data sources to provide a holistic perspective.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills, with the ability to seek alternatives, new ideas, and/or approaches to problems, and develop and implement solutions.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; Ability to influence across all levels of the organization.
  • Possess strong time management and prioritization skills to operate in a highly accountable and fast-paced environment.
  • Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • A history of being a self-starter, innovative, and creating success in ambiguous situations.
