What we are looking for:

Keurig Dr Pepper is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to lead efforts in developing strategies, implementing, and managing data archiving solutions within SAP landscapes (not limited to) to optimize system performance, ensure compliance, and manage data growth efficiently. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to define strategies and utilize SAP archiving tools, ensuring that business goals align with technical capabilities. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in SAP Data Archiving, governance practices, and hands-on experience in designing and executing archiving strategies.
Key Responsibilities:
Data Archiving Strategy and Implementation:
- Develop and implement an end-to-end SAP data archiving strategy to ensure optimized system performance and storage across landscape including ERP, BW, APO and HANA, reduced database size, and compliance with data retention policies.
- Leverage archiving tools such as SAP ILM (Information Lifecycle Management), ArchiveLink, and ADK for archiving structured and unstructured data.
- Define and enforce data retention policies, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and business requirements.
- Lead the deployment of third-party archiving tools integrated with SAP systems, enabling hybrid and cloud-based archiving solutions.
- Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the SAP landscape, including ERP, BW, HANA, and other related modules.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify data archiving needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.
- Develop and manage robust data integrations to enable business growth and IT results.
System Performance Optimization:
- Monitor and assess database growth to identify archiving opportunities and mitigate risks associated with large datasets.
- Analyze SAP system landscapes to identify data growth patterns and establish effective archiving solutions tailored to business requirements.
- Provide recommendations and support for database housekeeping, ensuring system performance and scalability.
Governance & Compliance:
- Document data archiving processes, policies, and best practices.
- Define, enforce, and monitor data governance policies and procedures to maintain data quality, security, and compliance.
- Establish data retention, deletion, and archiving policies to align with organizational, legal, and regulatory requirements (e.g., GDPR, SOX, etc.).
- Implement data governance practices to maintain data integrity and security during the archiving process.
- Support internal and external audit requirements by providing detailed reports on data archiving activities and compliance measures.
- Ensure proper audit trails are maintained during archiving processes.
Collaboration & Leadership:
- Lead SAP data archiving projects, including requirement gathering, solution design, implementation, and post-go-live support.
- Document archiving policies, procedures, and technical configurations for future reference and audits.
- Conduct training sessions for relevant stakeholders on data archiving tools and procedures.

Key Skills & Expertise:
Technical Mastery:
- Mastery Level skillset in data management, integration, and optimization, with significant expertise in cloud-based SAP solutions and data archiving tools such as SAP ILM, ArchiveLink, and third-party archiving solutions.
- Strong understanding of data lifecycle management, retention policies, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in SAP S/4HANA or ECC environments, including integration with non-SAP systems for data archiving.
- Solid understanding of data governance principles and best practices.
- Experience with performance optimization and troubleshooting in SAP landscapes.
- Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as Azure, AWS, or GCP, including integration with SAP systems.
- SAP certifications in data archiving or data management are highly desirable.
- Knowledge of SAP HANA database and its impact on archiving strategies is a plus.
Leadership & Communication:
- Proven ability to lead teams, set strategy, and deliver results.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills to articulate technical concepts to diverse audiences.
- Demonstrated ability to derive actionable insights from data and present clear recommendations.
Problem Solving & Optimization:
- Proactive in identifying archiving opportunities and troubleshooting issues related to data management in SAP systems.
Minimum Qualifications/Requirements:
Education:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Experience:
- Hands-on experience with cloud-based SAP solutions and data archiving in cloud environments.
- SAP certification(s) related to data archiving or data management.
- 5+ years in data management, including integration, modeling, and optimization.
- Proficiency in SQL coding, ETL, and data warehousing.
Skills:
- Expertise in conceptual architecture, data integration design, and wireframing.
- Familiarity with DevOps and Agile technology environments (preferred).
- Strong presentation and change management skills.
Nice to have / Cross trained:
- Hands-on experience with Python and UNIX.
- Knowledge of SAP ERP application as a source system.
- Knowledge of reporting tools like Tableau, MicroStrategy, PowerBI
- Knowledge of Cloud Technologies Azure, GCP and AWS
