Job Overview:

The Senior Indirect Tax Accountant supports the company’s indirect tax function, with responsibility for sales and use tax, beverage taxes, unclaimed property, and bottle deposit programs. This role focuses on compliance oversight, transaction review, tax research, and general ledger reconciliation while partnering closely with internal stakeholders and external service providers to ensure accurate and timely tax reporting.

This position is a hybrid role based in Frisco, TX, with in-office work from Tuesday to Thursday and remote work on Monday and Friday.

Responsibilities

  • Support indirect tax compliance activities, including sales and use tax, beverage taxes, unclaimed property, and bottle deposit reporting.
  • Review and analyze general ledger tax account reconciliations and journal entries to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable tax regulations.
  • Oversee indirect tax filings and compliance work prepared by internal teams and third‑party service providers.
  • Manage the issuance, acceptance, and maintenance of resale and exemption certificates, providing guidance to internal business partners as needed.
  • Research transaction taxability issues and respond to business inquiries with clear, well‑supported tax guidance.
  • Perform self‑review of purchasing and transactional data to validate sales and use tax accuracy and proactively identify risk and recovery opportunities.
  • Assist with sales and use tax, unclaimed, beverage and bottle deposit audits, including audit support and documentation.
  • Participate in special projects and ad‑hoc initiatives related to indirect tax compliance and process improvements.

Total Rewards:
  • Salary Range: $76,400 - $115,000
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors
  • Benefits, subject to election and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement
  • Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field
  • Three or more years of experience in sales and use tax and/or accounting
  • Experience reconciling financially based records and general ledger accounts
  • Strong analytical, criticalthinking, and problemsolving skills
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and meet internal and external deadlines
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Highly motivated selfstarter with the ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with SAP and indirect tax systems such as Vertex O and/or Vertex Returns
  • SAP experience related to customers, product materials, or condition records
  • Bottle deposit compliance experience
