The Senior Benefits Specialist - Union is responsible for delivery and administration of union benefit programs, union benefit/retirement plan compliance, and accountability for audits related to these plans.  Carry out duties and responsibilities ensuring compliance with Company policies in addition to Federal and Local regulations.  This position reports to the Payroll Manager for US Payroll Operations.

This position is based at our at HQ in Frisco, TX and will have a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office and 2 days work from home)

Position Responsibilities

  • Administration of union benefit programs including but not limited to retirement, pension, health and welfare, and leave of absence
  • Prepare regular payrolls reports, remittance reports, and payment requests for Accounts Payable
  • Provide customer support to internal customers and external vendors
  • Act as lead for union audits
  • Identifies and resolves complex union benefit issues or questions in a timely fashion
  • Perform quality assurance checks of union benefits related data.  Review and correct errors to avoid penalties and union grievances.
  • Assist with monthly GL reconciliation for union benefit accounts
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of regulatory benefit, trends, and other developments affecting union benefit administration
  • Proactively identify process improvements and keep process documentation updated
  • Ability to prioritize and organize work with high level of accuracy maintaining high degree of confidentiality
  • Additional tasks as assigned by Payroll Manager

Requirements

  • High school diploma and some related college courses
  • Minimum of 2 years experience in benefits, payroll, accounts payable or related experience
  • Experience with union benefit plan administration preferred
  • In-Depth union benefit knowledge including FMLA, ERISA, ACA, and DOL preferred
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams, etc)
  • Proficient with Payroll software (SAP, ADP)
  • Familiarity with Workday
  • Strong communication skills
