Developer plays a critical role within SIP Data Platform Engineering team, focusing on the administration, maintenance, and development of cloud-based Data Platform tools and technologies. This role is responsible for administration and security (Engineering work) for KDP Analytics and Data Science solutions for various business groups across the organization.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with cloud data warehousing tools, particularly Snowflake, and possess strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Candidate will serve as a technical point of contact, collaborating with cross-functional business and technical teams to deliver high-quality solutions. This role requires an ability to quickly learn emerging technologies and contribute to the development, security, and optimization of the data platform.

This position is based at our HQ in Frisco, TX and will have a hybrid schedule (3 days in the office and 2 days work from home on a weekly basis)

Key Responsibilities

Data Platform Administration & Development:

  • Administration and security setup of cloud-based data warehousing tools like Snowflake.
  • Develop, implement, and document best practices for the data platform.
  • Perform development and troubleshooting tasks as required for data solutions.

Data Platform Security & Governance:

  • Implement and maintain the Analytics Data Platform security strategy.
  • Ensure adherence to security protocols and assist in road mapping platform improvements.
  • Collaborate with the Change Control Board (CCB) to assess and approve changes to minimize disruption to business operations.

Technical Collaboration & Delivery:

  • Work closely with delivery and support teams to ensure adherence to KDP’s data platform standards and practices.
  • Collaborate with third-party consulting partners to deliver high-quality, on-time solutions.
  • Provide critical technical support for the data platform tools and technologies.

Continuous Improvement:

  • Support the delivery of roadmaps for platform improvements, focusing on tools, technologies, and processes.
  • Analyze analytics solution architecture and suggest optimizations.

Documentation:

  • Create technical documentation for platform design, changes, and best practices.
  • Ensure proper documentation and approvals are completed for production rollouts.

Requirements

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of IT experience, with a focus on cloud data warehousing solutions.
  • Proficiency in data warehousing, ETL development, and strong SQL coding skills.
  • Exposure to data analytics platforms and tools such as Snowflake, Informatica Cloud, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of data security principles and ensuring best practices for data governance.
  • Proven ability to communicate complex technical concepts in simple terms to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience collaborating within cross-functional teams to deliver quality results.

 

Preferred Skills:

  • Hands-on experience in Snowflake security setup, maintenance, and administration.
  • Exposure to emerging Analytics trends and technologies.
  • Knowledge of Cloud Data Platforms like GCP and Azure.
  • Experience with Unix scripting and Python.
