Accounts Payable Specialist

The Accounts Payable Specialist is responsible for executing and managing payment processes with accuracy and compliance. This role ensures timely disbursements across various payment channels, supports fraud prevention efforts, and collaborates with Treasury and other internal teams to resolve payment-related issues. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, proactive, and capable of handling high-volume transactions and special assignments.
- Ensure timely and accurate payments across all channels.
- Maintain compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Perform reconciliations and resolve payment discrepancies.
- Collaborate with Treasury and cross-functional teams.
- Issue scheduled and urgent check payments.
- Process EFT payments and manage special handling scenarios.
- Oversee automated vendor payments via Prime and Orbian platforms.
- Reconcile proposals and coordinate with Treasury.
- Process and log returned EFTs and checks.
- Investigate and resolve returned items in coordination with relevant parties.
- Review and submit decisions on suspicious items flagged by the bank.
- Validate payment records and manage voids and reissues.
- Void and reissue checks as needed.
- Handle duplicate or incorrect payments and escheatment submissions.
- Maintain supporting documentation for compliance.
- Process returned payments and manage voiding of checks.
- Support quality and Concur audits during downtime.
- Scan invoices and manage weekly offboarding of Prime proposals.
- Troubleshoot payment issues.
- Support escheatment audits and third-party audit requests.
- Participate in project testing and other assigned initiatives.
Total Rewards:
- Salary Range: $19.47 - $28.98 hourly
- Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors

Requirements:
- 3+ years of experience in accounting.
- Familiarity with EFT, check processing, and automated payment systems.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Experience with fraud prevention tools and audit processes.
- Proficiency in financial systems and Microsoft Office Suite.
