The National Account Executive (NAE) will be responsible for the sales of Keurig Dr Pepper’s (KDP’s) Direct Store Delivery (DSD) portfolio within the Grocery channel, specifically managing the Hy-Vee accounts. The NAE will play a key role in shaping the strategic direction of customer relationships, contributing to volume, profit, and share growth by driving distribution and availability of key KDP brands. This role involves developing and executing net sales and margin strategies across KDP's beverage platforms.

The ideal candidate can be located in one of the following locations: Des Moines, IA, Minneapolis, MN, Kansas City, KS or Holland, MI

Key Responsibilities:

  • Account Management: Cultivate and maintain strategic relationships with Hy-Vee, including buyers, supply chain partners, and regional leadership. Serve as the primary point of contact, addressing needs and resolving issues promptly to drive revenue growth and maximize profitability.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive sales strategies tailored to each business area we represent. Analyze market trends, internal data, and customer insights to identify opportunities and craft targeted solutions.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities within Hy-Vee. Collaborate with the cross-functional team to explore and deliver new whitespace opportunities.
  • Direct Store Delivery (DSD) Management:
    • DSD Optimization: Collaborate with DSD teams to ensure efficient delivery operations for Hy-Vee.
    • Account Integration: Align DSD strategies with account plans to enhance service delivery and meet client expectations. Develop streamlined communication processes between DSD teams and national accounts.
    • Performance Monitoring: Track and analyze DSD performance metrics, including customer satisfaction. Implement improvements based on performance data and client feedback.
  • Performance Tracking: Monitor and analyze account performance, sales metrics, and market conditions. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key achievements and areas for improvement.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including marketing, supply chain, DSD, and product development, to ensure alignment and successful execution of account plans. Engage with internal stakeholders, including Revenue Growth Management, Finance, and Category Management, to support and execute joint business plans.
  • Contract Management: Negotiate and finalize contracts, ensuring favorable terms for both KDP and the client. Manage contract renewals and adjustments as needed.
  • Promotional Management: Oversee the planning, development, and execution of promotional processes. Ensure all retailer timelines are met, deliverables are executed effectively within assigned trade budgets, and customize marketing programs to facilitate brand building and volume growth.
  • Customer Insights: Gather and leverage customer feedback, internal, syndicated, and point-of-sale (POS) data to drive product innovation and enhance customer satisfaction. Utilize these insights to adjust plans and exceed annual goals and objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • 5 years of experience in CPG sales or sales support in National Accounts.
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience using IRI, Nielsen Scantrack, or other syndicated data.
  • Highly proficient in MS Office products such as PowerPoint, Word, and Excel.
  • Strong financial and economic acumen, with experience in managing account trade budgets.
