Workers Compensation Analyst

Responsible for the effective administration of Company workers’ compensation policies and procedures and ensures compliance with all State and Federal laws as it relates to Workers’ Compensation, FMLA, ADA, and other leave of absence protections following work-related injuries.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversees the day-to-day administration of the Company Workers’ Compensation Program for multiple states within designated business unit
- Partners with business leaders and key stakeholders to identify preventative opportunity areas
- Assesses all new claims and immediately engage in those that are serious, questionable, or lost time
- Monitors and maintains appropriate contact with all managers and employees on workers’ compensation ensuring timely return to work
- Partners with claims adjusters, nurse case managers, EHS, Risk Management, managers, and employees and works with team to develop claims strategy
- Recommends procedure, policy, manual and training enhancements based on knowledge, experience, and feedback from stakeholders
- Maintains confidentiality of sensitive information
- Follows up with all employees, managers, and timekeepers, TPA, and medical offices regarding workers’ compensation appointments, light duty status and any policy or procedure clarifications
- Arranges and follows up on physician, physical therapy, and diagnostic testing appointments for employees
- Responsible for the effective development, administration, and roll-out of the Company Transitional Duty Program within business unit
- Maintains appointment logs and track restricted duty and lost time metrics for cases within designated business unit
- Acts as a liaison between the injured team member, claim administrator and the Company to ensure all eligible benefits are provided to the injured team member
Total Rewards:
- Salary range: USD $62,500.00 - USD $82,900.00
- Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors
- Benefits, subject to election and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement
- Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 3-5 years of experience handling workers’ compensation claims or a Master’s degree with a minimum of 1-3 years of experience handling workers’ compensation claims
- Proficient in Microsoft Office / Word / Excel / PowerPoint
- Must be able to regularly exercise discretion, handle conflict and be firm when required
- Strong attention to detail
- Problem-solving skills; able to identify important aspects of a problem, gather appropriate information, determine potential causes, and specify alternative solutions
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Proficient multi-tasking capabilities; able to prioritize multiple competing priorities while remaining compliant with policies and delivering against deadlines
- This position is primarily remote, with a requirement to travel to our Northlake, Illinois site at least once per month.
