Winter Co-op 2025 – Embedded Software Engineer

As a Winter Co-op 2025 - Embedded Software Engineer in Burlington, Massachusetts at Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP), with the Software On-Brewer team, you will engage and partner on innovative projects to gain experience in an Agile, fast paced, and cross functional team environment, working as part of a product development team. You will receive mentor support for your professional development and experience in innovative technologies, such as IoT (Internet of Things) and latest in Linux and real time embedded operating systems.

Shift/Schedule:

  • The KDP 2025 Winter Co-op Program will run from January 6 – May 23, 2025
  • Full-time; 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Friday
  • Hybrid ( T/W/Th in office; exceptions may apply based on need)

As an Embedded Software Engineer Co-op you will:

  • Work with software team leads and members to design and develop code on brewer platforms and technologies
  • Get real world experience in developing software and test scripts for existing or new hardware technologies in a supportive team that values collaboration and accountability
  • Identify issues and fix bugs as directed in brewer source code
  • Participate in design activities for new features
  • Document and test any software that you develop during your co-op experience
  • Be treated as an equal member of the team as a software developer
  • Handle tasks of increasing complexity as you continue to demonstrate success

Elements of the KDP Intern/Co-Op Program include:

  • Engaging and partnering on innovative projects to gain experience in a challenging, cross functional team environment
  • Participate in meet & greets and lunch & learns with KDP executives and other organization leaders
  • Receive professional development training such as networking, professional skills development and presenting
  • Be paired with a mentor to enhance your knowledge of other parts of the business and build your network
  • Complete a project from start to finish and present it and your takeaways to your team, department vice president and other KDP stakeholders

Requirements

  • Academic Status: Must be an undergraduate currently enrolled in a full-time program at an accredited college or university, majoring in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Programming Experience:
    • Proficiency in C++/C or other object-oriented programming languages.
    • Experience with Python and/or Bash is highly preferred.
  • Embedded Systems: Familiarity with embedded systems, such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi, is advantageous.
  • Version Control: Experience with Bitbucket, Git, or other source control systems.
  • Organizational Skills: Excellent organizational abilities with strong attention to detail; demonstrated capability to manage tasks, prioritize requests, and meet deadlines.
  • Communication Skills: Effective communication skills, including strong listening, written, and verbal abilities.
  • Work Style: Ability to work both cross-functionally and independently.
