Summer 2027 Intern - Corporate Finance, US Coffee (MBA)
We are seeking a highly analytical and detail-oriented Finance MBA professional to support royalty forecasting, reporting, and partner brand financial management. This role will be responsible for interpreting complex licensing and royalty agreements, developing financial models to forecast and actualize royalty obligations, and providing actionable insights to support business planning and partner relationships.
The ideal candidate will combine strong financial modeling skills with the ability to translate contractual language into accurate financial outcomes. This position plays a critical role in ensuring royalty payments are calculated, forecasted, accrued, and paid accurately across a diverse portfolio of licensed and partner brands.
Schedule:
- The KDP Summer 2027 Intern Program runs from June 7th - August 13th, 2027
- Location: Burlington, MA
- Full-time; 40 hours per week
- Monday-Friday
- 8:00am until 5:00pm
- Hybrid, in-office 3 days a week
What you will do:
Financial Modeling & Forecasting
- Develop and maintain comprehensive royalty forecasting models that estimate quarterly and annual royalty expenses by partner brand.
- Create processes to compare forecasts against actual royalty expenses and identify key drivers of variances.
- Support budgeting, long-range planning, and monthly financial close activities related to royalty obligations.
- Recommend improvements to forecasting methodologies and reporting tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency.
Royalty Actualization & Reporting
- Calculate, validate, and reconcile royalty payments owed to partner brands based on sales activity and contractual agreements.
- Prepare quarterly royalty accruals and support payment processing activities.
- Analyze royalty trends, identify anomalies, and investigate discrepancies between forecasts and actual results.
- Generate regular reporting and executive-level insights regarding royalty obligations, partner brand performance, and financial impacts.
Variety Pack & Multi-Brand Royalty Analysis
- Analyze complex product portfolios, including variety packs containing multiple brands.
- Determine appropriate royalty allocation methodologies for products that include multiple brand partners.
- Unravel and validate multi-brand royalty structures to identify which partner brands are owed royalties and calculate payment amounts by quarter.
- Develop scalable tracking and reporting solutions that improve visibility into variety pack royalty obligations.
- Collaborate with Commercial and Supply Chain teams to understand product composition changes that may impact royalty calculations.
Total Rewards:
- $2,250 per week
- Paid bi-weekly
- $7,000 sign-on bonus, paid withing first 30 days of employment
Requirements:
- Education/Experience:
- Currently enrolled in MBA program
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Economics, or related field
- Technical and Other Skills:
- Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office necessary, especially in Excel
- Required Competencies and aptitudes:
- Self-motivated team player with strong ability to interact with others, work under pressure, and adhere to deadlines
- Very strong analytical and critical thinking skills with the ability to propose positive business solutions to complex problems
- Solid organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment with focused attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to work cross-functionally at a high level of customer service
- Comfortable working with high volumes of data and the ability to identify and summarize key messages
- Detailed and process improvement oriented
- Coachable, open to feedback, eager to grow into a well-rounded finance professional
- Ability to handle confidential financial information with discretion
- Ability to work flexible hours as required
- Ability to follow Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures, as well as our operating principles
