This individual will sit in our Burlington, MA coproporate office in a hybrid working model. Team open to fully remote (located anywhere within the US) for right candidate.
Role Summary
The Manager, Business Unit (BU) Procurement is responsible for leading day-to-day procurement execution for an assigned Business Unit, ensuring reliable supply, cost competitiveness, and alignment with enterprise category strategies. This role acts as the operational bridge between Materials Management, Category Management, and business stakeholders, translating operational demand into effective sourcing and supplier actions.
The role emphasizes execution excellence, supplier performance management, risk mitigation, and continuous improvement, while supporting longer-term category and business strategies established by Category Management and Procurement leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Business Unit Procurement Execution
- Own procurement execution for assigned BU categories, ensuring continuity of supply, service performance, and compliance with enterprise sourcing strategies.
- Translate plant, supply planning, and business demand signals into actionable procurement plans.
- Manage purchase execution aligned with approved contracts, sourcing guardrails, and policies.
- Lead procurement work in new product introductions (NPI/NPD), supplier transitions, onboarding, productivity projects, and continuous improvement initiatives impacting the business unit.
- Supplier Management & Performance
- Manage day-to-day supplier relationships for BU-managed or locally coordinated suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance across service, quality, cost, and responsiveness metrics; drive corrective actions where required.
- Partner with Quality, Supply Chain, and Operations to resolve supply disruptions and performance issues.
- Identify and escalate supplier risk, capacity constraints, or market disruptions.
- Cost, Productivity & Value Delivery
- Deliver annual cost, productivity, and working capital objectives for assigned BU spend.
- Support cost modeling, inflation mitigation, and value improvement initiatives in collaboration with Category Management.
- Identify execution-level opportunities related to demand shaping, compliance, and sourcing optimization.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with Materials Management, Supply Planning, Manufacturing, R&D, Engineering, and Finance to align procurement actions with operational needs.
- · Serve as the primary procurement point of contact for BU stakeholders on execution, supplier issues, and near-term priorities.
- · Provide market intelligence, supplier insights, and execution feedback to Category Management to inform strategy development.
- Governance, Risk & Compliance
- Ensure procurement activities comply with enterprise policies, sourcing strategies, and contracting standards.
- Support risk identification related to supply continuity, quality, commercial exposure, and supplier health.
- Contribute to audits, compliance reviews, and governance routines.
- Continuous Improvement & Transformation
- Support deployment of procurement processes, systems, and operating model enhancements within the BU.
- Drive standard work, process discipline, and data accuracy across procurement execution activities.
- Participate in transformation initiatives such as system rollouts, operating model changes, or integration activities.
Total Rewards:
- Salary Range: $100,000 - $130,000
- Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors

Requirements:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Engineering, or related field.
- 5–8 years of procurement, sourcing, or supply chain experience, preferably in manufacturing, CPG, or food & beverage.
- Strong understanding of procurement execution, supplier management, and cross-functional operating models.
- Experience working with ERP/MRP systems and procurement tools.
- Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in direct materials procurement (packaging, ingredients, or co-manufacturing).
- Prior experience supporting complex, multi-site manufacturing environments.
- Demonstrated success delivering cost savings, supply continuity, or operational improvements.
