Join a team shaping the future of coffee innovation. As an Associate Scientist on the Future Coffee Systems team, you’ll turn ideas into reality, taking concepts from benchtop to pilot scale to full production. Your work will help deliver exceptional beverages faster, with uncompromising quality.
In this role, you’ll play a key part in advancing Keurig Dr Pepper’s next-generation coffee systems, creating value for consumers, customers, and partners. You will:
- Apply scientific methods and technical expertise to develop coffee formulations that delight consumers
- Drive business success by meeting timelines, cost targets, product requirements, and quality standards
Essential duties and responsibilities
Responsibilities include:
- Product development of coffee beverages in a new single serve beverage format
- Use product and formulation design principles to develop high quality products efficiently
- Conduct all aspects of product formulation in the lab; sourcing ingredients, roasting and grinding coffee, creating blends, conducting sensory panels and other lab work as necessary
- Maintain detailed record laboratory and formulation work
- Create and maintain product specifications
- Develop rigorous experimental plans to validate technical and sensorial aspects of formulations, and for troubleshooting issues during development and commercialization phases
- Detail orientated
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Partner with various functions of R&D – Sensory, Ingredients, Nutrition, Regulatory, Flavor Technology, Chemistry, Process Engineering, and Technical
- Comply with all requirements related to food safety and quality
Total Rewards:
- Salary Range: $55,700-81,000
- Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors
- Benefits, subject to election and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement
- Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific field such as food science, food engineering, chemical engineering, chemistry or similar
- Strong passion for coffee. This individual is a ritualistic consumer of coffee, and is motivated to deliver the best tasting coffee beverages for consumers
- Demonstrate flexibility and resilience in adapting to changing business needs and priorities
- Experience with lab work
- Experience with product formulation a plus
- Understanding of statistical data analysis
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Highly competent in MS Office product suite
- Ability to travel; 25%+ during certain periods of time
