Job Overview:

 

The Allentown operation is a state-of-the-art aseptic bottling and variety packaging facility along with a full beverage distribution center.  The site operation will function on the foundational principles of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance); principles of Lean manufacturing and Six Sigma; and the power of High-Performance Teams.  All associates at the Allentown site will have specific accountability and ownership to the site operations and to their respective functional business operation.  The site will run on state-of-the-art enterprise information technology systems and manufacturing execution systems; and with highly automated processing equipment, packaging equipment, and material movement equipment; and very standardized lean processes. 

Quality Lead

The Quality Lead is responsible for working with Quality, Operations and Maintenance Leadership to coordinate the validation and verification activities performed by the Quality Technicians on shift as well as ensure the integration, utilization and functionality of the Food Safety Management System as indicated.

 

Position Responsibilities

  • Performs duties with a safety-first approach
  • Train/coach line audits/review paperwork with excellent knowledge of all lines
  • Train/coach/possess expert knowledge of all quality procedures and plant wide standards
  • Displays high degree of initiative and work ethic while working independently
  • Train/coach to handle any quality issue by making sound, competent decisions accounting for quality and financial significances
  • Train/Coach to communicate with Vendors
  • Train/Coach to access substandard batches and identify corrective action to be taken
  • Train/Coach to Lead a VMS audit and QA portions of a plant trial
  • Better Process Control School certified
  • Complete Lean Six Sigma courses (Yellow, White, and Lean Belt)
  • Complete AIB Food Sanitation course
  • Complete HACCP/HARPC Training course/workshop
  • Train/coach in numerous testing procedures of raw materials, packaging, preparation, and finished products
  • Train/coach understanding of company specifications and government regulatory requirements including FDA, GMPs, and HACCP/HARPC
  • Other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor


Requirements

Requirements

  • 7 years of experience in a food/beverage/pharmaceutical industry
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds on a frequent basis
  • Ability to frequently kneel, squat, bend, and stoop, twist, and reach overhead with repetitive motion Ability to spend significant time standing on the manufacturing floor with some frequency of computer work
  • Must be available to work extended hours and flexible time in different departments based on business needs
  • Computer knowledge of Microsoft Office
