Job Description



In this position, you will develop manufacturing processes for new consumer beverage products as well as optimizing the manufacturing of existing products. This position is the key link between bench top product development and successful full scale commercialization, as well as providing new and innovative solutions for manufacturing optimization.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement new processes from initial concept through implementation. Manage assigned projects coordinating closely with functional manager and cross functional R&D team.
  • Perform beverage thermal processing and manufacturing engineering calculations to define processing requirements.
  • Design and conduct science based research experiments in lab, pilot plant and manufacturing plant.
  • Design and lead the execution of plant trials for diverse purposes including the production of sale samples, process research, new ingredient/formula qualification, new process qualification, etc.
  • Develop thorough and robust procedures on assigned projects and conduct plant personnel training of processing requirements.
  • Accountable for assigned projects including timely follow through and documentation in a systematic and methodical manner.
  • Work effectively with cross functional teams in Manufacturing, Project Engineering, Packaging Engineering, Marketing and other business partners.
  • Provide technical support on supply chain and R&D initiatives on cost savings, process optimization and quality improvement.
  • Develop KDP technical and leadership capabilities through hands on business interaction, company sponsored coursework and approved 3rd party resources.
  • Pro-actively share learnings from projects, training and vendor relationships.
  • Ability to travel up to 40%


Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Food Science, or a related field from an accredited institution.
  • Experience in the design and qualification of low-acid aseptic and retort beverage manufacturing lines is required
  • 5+ years of experience in beverage products.
  • Strong command of food science principles and its application to the manufacturing of food and beverage products from benchtop through manufacturing plant level.
  • Supervisory experience in food manufacturing environment is a plus.
