Job Overview:

The Senior Manager, Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) is responsible for providing multi-media environmental compliance leadership and support across manufacturing and distribution facilities.  This role partners with operations, engineering, maintenance, EHS, legal, and corporate sustainability teams to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental regulations while driving environmental performance and continuous improvement initiatives.  The Senior Manager will support environmental management systems, regulatory compliance programs, sustainability reporting, and incident response activities while helping to reduce environmental risks and advance company sustainability goals.  This position serves as a key liaison with regulatory agencies and provides technical expertise and strategic guidance to facility leadership.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This position has no direct reports but may provide leadership, coaching, and direction to facility environmental resources, consultants, contractors, and cross-functional teams.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages environmental compliance programs across manufacturing and distribution facilities to ensure compliance with applicable federal, state, provincial, and local environmental regulations.
  • Provides multi-media environmental compliance support, including air emissions, water and wastewater, stormwater, hazardous waste, non-hazardous waste, SPCC, chemical management, EPCRA, sustainability, and other environmental regulatory programs.
  • Leads environmental incident response activities, including spill response, regulatory notifications, investigations, root cause analyses, corrective actions, and follow-up reporting.
  • Supports environmental permitting activities, including permit applications, modifications, renewals, reporting obligations, and compliance certifications.
  • Develops and maintains environmental management systems, policies, standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistent implementation across facilities.
  • Partners with facility leadership, operations, engineering, and EHS teams to identify environmental risks and implement effective solutions that support operational excellence and business objectives.
  • Leads and supports environmental compliance audits, due diligence reviews, and corrective action programs to ensure timely closure of findings.
  • Serves as a primary point of contact with environmental regulatory agencies and external stakeholders and supports inspections, audits, permit negotiations, information requests, and enforcement responses.
  • Tracks, analyzes, and communicates environmental performance metrics, including but not limited to water use, wastewater performance, waste diversion, landfill waste, recycling, energy usage, greenhouse gas emissions, and regulatory compliance indicators.
  • Helps deliver environmental training and awareness programs to support regulatory compliance and environmental stewardship.
  • Supports enterprise sustainability goals through data collection, validation, analysis, and sustainability dashboard development and reporting.
  • Identifies opportunities to improve environmental performance through waste reduction, resource conservation, pollution prevention, water stewardship, and sustainability initiatives.
  • Monitors changing environmental laws, regulations, and industry trends and provides guidance regarding potential business impacts and compliance obligations.
  • Supports capital projects, facility expansions, and equipment modifications by providing environmental compliance guidance during planning and implementation phases.

 OTHER NECESSARY FUNCTIONS:

  • Follows all policies, procedures, safety requirements directed by KDP and the department.
  • Performs other duties as requested by management.

Total Rewards:
  • Salary Range: $130,700 - $150,000
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors
  • Benefits, subject to election and eligibility: Medical, Dental, Vision, Disability, Paid Time Off (including paid parental leave, vacation, and sick time), 401k with company match, Tuition Reimbursement, and Mileage Reimbursement
  • Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility

Requirements:

IDEAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, environmental science, or equivalent field.
  • 10 years of experience managing environmental or EHS preferably in a manufacturing / operations environment or supporting operations as a consultant.  Beverage industry experience preferred.
  • Ability to negotiate and build effective working relationships with a wide variety of stakeholders, both inside and outside of the company.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex concepts to diverse audiences.
  • Demonstrated track record of successfully leading projects (achieving goals on time and within budget, attention to detail; strong documentation and reporting skills).
  • Strong analytical, written and oral communication, organizational and time management skills.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
  • Ability to be punctual, thrive in a fast-paced environment; anticipate needs and be proactive in resolving issues; and follow KDP policies and procedures.
  • Ability to travel up to 35%.

 PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Predominately sedentary light office position with high frequency of keyboarding/computer work required (67% - 100% of the workday).  Ability to lift 30 pounds on a regular basis and 50 pounds occasionally.
