Spartanburg is the largest KDRP manufacturing and distribution location. The site will operate on the foundational principles of TPM (Total Productive Maintenance); leverage the principles of Lean manufacturing and harness the power of High-Performance Teams. All associates at the Spartanburg site will have accountability to a functional business unit in addition to the full site operation. The site will run on state-of-the-art enterprise IT and manufacturing execution systems with highly automated processing, packaging, and material movement equipment.
As a Quality Assurance Technician, you will work within an operations crew and will provide quality assurance support by performing testing in response to manufacturing issues and maintaining the TPM Quality Maintenance process. This is a hands-on role that will require you troubleshoot quality issues with operations, monitor the performance of critical machine characteristics, follow a control plan, and escalate issues to leaders in operations, maintenance, quality and safety. Working within a highly automated TPM-based environment, the QA Technician will be expected to follow standard work, perform process audits, and participate in structured problem solving to remove defects. You will be looked upon to collect and interpret machine and quality data, make decisions on product quality, accurately maintain the Quality Hold area, inspect and disposition non-conforming product, and guide the work of less experienced persons within your group.
Shift & Schedule: This is a full time position on Nights 1 working our 3-4 schedule (see shift details below). Flexibility to work overtime, weekends and holidays as scheduled is required.
6:30pm-7:00am
- Week 1: Wednesday-Friday
- Week 2: Wednesday-Saturday
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate and support safe behaviors, and regularly complete behavioral safety observations. Participate in safety meetings, audits and risk reduction initiatives and ensure 100% completion of all safety/regulatory training
- Understand the impact of various defects on customers and share this knowledge with your team. Understand and apply Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs)
- Assist your crew in addressing equipment and material issues
- Have a working knowledge of Statistical Process Control and the Proficient data collection and reporting system
- Have a working knowledge of SAP as it relates to the movement of product into and out of blocked stock, product traceability, and other quality assurance transactions as necessary to perform your job.
- Be able to use lab instrumentation to conduct quality tests. Troubleshoot and calibrate instrumentation, track calibration status, and train others to perform testing.
- Participate in the Corrective and Preventive Action process. Work with the operations and quality team to determine root causes of defects.
- Work with the food safety leader to implement improvements to the food safety system.
- Prepare and send out BIT Notifications, Quality Incident Alerts and Disposition requests to Corporate Quality
Total Rewards
- Pay starting at $27.58 per hour. The employee will move to a higher rate of $29.07per hour in the quarter after their 6-month anniversary.

Requirements
- Two years in a manufacturing quality assurance role or equivalent
- Experience using SAP, or similar manufacturing operating system
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Outlook and other applications
- Able to lift, bend, stretch and spend a significant portion of the shift standing or walking.
