Summer Intern 2025 – Coffee Appliance Engineer - St. Joseph, MI
As a Summer Intern 2025- Coffee Appliance Engineer at Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) you will be a part of the beverage revolution. You will be part of the Appliance Global Product Organization, a product development team responsible for the end-to-end research, design, manufacture, and delivery of beverage appliances for the At Home and Away from Home market segments. This team is at the heart of transforming our iconic Keurig brand for the next era, building on our position as the industry innovation leader.
Working in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment, the Engineering Intern will team with Engineering leaders to develop and test our next generation coffee appliances. Each intern will lead high-impact projects and will be provided with opportunities to grow professionally. Shift/Schedule:
- The KDP 2025 Summer Intern Program will run from June 2 – August 8, 2025
- Full-time; 40 hours per week
- Monday-Friday
- 8:00am until 5:00pm
- Hybrid: (T/W/Th in office)
- Position based in Burlington, MA or St. Joseph, MI
As an Engineering Intern you will:
- Support new coffee appliance development projects from a module design and verification standpoint, with a particular focus on integrated Mechanical/ SW/ Electrical HW systems
- Participate in the design and execution of experiments and onsite empirical lab testing
- Track module performance, cost, schedule, and other key project deliverables
- Perform 3D CAD design and modeling simulations
- Perform Statistical Analysis of performance test data from coffee maker appliances
- Hands on building of prototypes (3D Printing, Machining, Plastic Parts)
- Perform dFMEA and/ or informal risk analysis of designs
- Develop skills with lab test fixtures and equipment
Elements of the KDP Intern/Co-Op Program include:
- Engaging and partnering on innovative projects to gain experience in a challenging, cross functional team environment
- Participate in meet & greets and lunch & learns with KDP executives and other organization leaders
- Receive professional development training such as networking, professional skills development and presenting
- Be paired with a mentor to enhance your knowledge of other parts of the business and build your network
- Complete a project from start to finish and present it and your takeaways to your team, department vice president and other KDP stakeholders
Please note: This position is limited to persons with permanent right to work in the United States.
Total Rewards:
- $30.00/hour
- Paid bi-weekly
- $2,500.00 Sign-on Bonus, paid within first 30 days of employment
Requirements:
- Must be an undergraduate currently enrolled in a full-time academic program from an accredited college or university, majoring in Mechanical, Electrical, Computer or Systems Engineering
- Available to work 40 hours per week (M-F, 8am-5pm)
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail with a demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize requests, and meet deadlines
- Passion for consumer products
- CAD Proficiency (Solidworks preferred)
- Prototyping (3D Printing, Injection Molding, or Machining)
- General Lab Experience (hands-on building and testing)
Nice to Haves:
- CSWA / CSWP certificate
- Experience using Arduino or Raspberry PI
- Experience with Labview or Python (Data acquisition (DAQ)
- Experience with statistical analysis tools (JMP or Minitab)
- Experience with Lucidchart/Visio and MS Project/Smartsheet
