This position will be working on developing Concepts and Design Requirements for Mechanical | Electro-mechanical systems to be used on small appliances. Under supervision and partnering with principals and Sr engineers, the engineer will optimize mechanical and hydraulic components that operate under high pressure, including seals, pressure chambers, mechanisms, valves. They will utilize FEA, CAD and other modelling techniques to design components.
This role will work closely with a team of Software Engineers, Electrical/Electronics Engineers, Mechanical Engineers, and Performance Engineers and will utilize expertise to solve problems under general supervision.
Your Responsibilities Will Include
- Ensure project development activities are completed on time, meeting all requirements, including cost, quality & performance targets to support the project plans and project execution
- Utilize Solid Works to model and present concepts, conduct tolerance studies and FEA analysis.
- Develop learning plans to close knowledge gaps.
- Conduct FMEA for modules and components
- Develop requirements, test plans and verification methods in conjunction with Requirements and lab team.
- Utilize predictive validation methodologies in concept, design, and product validation stages
- Drive simulation of virtual prototypes and build physical prototypes per the V&V Plan
- Designate high contributing factors toward each function as a Special Characteristic
- Drive the measurement and documentation of the special characteristics of physical prototypes
- Drive closure of dFMEA action plans and updated Occurrence & Detection, based on Concept and Design Validation data and functional performance stacks

Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering
- Knowledge of scientific method and experimentation
- Knowledge of machine elements, machine design and hydraulics
- Self-starter, ability to breakdown a large plan into small tasks.
Preferred Skills And Experiences
- Experience working in CAD and SolidWorks
- Knowledge of Finite Element Analysis and Tolerance Stack / GD&T
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence others
- Knowledge about statistics and experimentation
