EHS (Environmental Health and Safety) Manager

The EHS Manager is accountable for the Environmental, Health and Safety Programs at the site. As a direct report to the Site Director, the EHS Manager provides site leadership in Environmental Compliance, Health and Safety of all employees.  Specifically this individual is accountable for the development, implementation, and support of strategies, systems and programs executed by site leaders towards the goals of zero health and safety incidents, and 100% compliance to all local, State, and Federal regulations requirements.

Position Responsibilities: 

  • Prepare, review and submit compliance reports to local, state, federal environmental and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage and update all environmental programs and permits for the site wastewater treatment and discharge, storm water, hazardous waste, SPCC, water usage, and other regulatory requirements as they pertain to the specific location.
  • Lead site security aspects and resources.
  • Lead development, execution and improvement of all EHS Systems, Programs, Policies and Procedures delivering EHS Excellence to the Aspers site.
  • Lead execution of a strong CAPA (Corrective Action / Preventive Action) program that drives site improvement in Safety and Environmental Health.
  • Develop the necessary training modules to ensure that training personnel and employees understand and can execute established procedures while meeting all EPA, OSHA, DOT requirements.
  • Manage OSHA recordkeeping database and provide quantitative and qualitative monthly reports and other necessary governmental reports. 
  • Regularly inspect and monitor the facility to ensure that the plant is fully operating in compliance with KDP Policy & Procedures, OSHA, EPA regulations and guidelines.
  • Lead the root cause analysis of accidents and incidents and collaborate with peers to develop strategies to reduce the frequency and severity of accidents.
  • Ability to establish and manage departments operating budget, including but not limited to Headcount, Compensation, Material & Supplies, Repair & Maintenance, and Professional Fees.
  • Lead site incident management (with support from Corporate EHS) with regards to environmental compliance and safety. Examples include OSHA and EPA notifications.
  • Define problems, collect data, establish facts, analysis quality data and draw valid conclusions. 

Total Rewards:
  • Salary Range: $96,800 - $140,000

  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors

Requirements:
  • 4-6 years’ experience applying environmental, health & safety regulations and programs in a manufacturing environment 
  • At least 2 years of safety leadership experience required
  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP) and/or Certified Industrial Hygienist preferred
  • Bachelor’s Degree preferred
  • Experience in ISO environmental management systems preferred.
