Job Overview:

This entry level role is a 6-month contract position, offering 12 hours per week, spread across 3 days. Hours of the role can range from 9am-2pm.

In the role of laboratory assistant, you will work with our team in Lausanne, Switzerland, and report to the Sr Manager, Coffee Quality.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for the reception, registration, and codification of samples into the existing tracking systems and databases.
  • Prepare and set up samples and rooms for sensory tasting events, dosing and grinding.
  • Follow all safety protocols and general housekeeping practices. Ensures the area and its equipment and supplies are kept clean and organized daily or after work has been completed.
  • Participate in the preparation and organization of extra calibration and training exercises, on-site and internal training sessions.
  • Maintain Coffee Corner equipment and roasted coffee supply.

Requirements:

In order to be successful, we are looking for someone who:

  • Ability to multi-task, with attention to detail, manage time, and to work independently.
  • Ability to perform standardized work with repetitive tasks and motion.
  • Proven organizational and communication skills.
  • Good working knowledge of the English language (written & spoken).
  • Swiss nationality or holder of a valid Swiss work permit.
