Location: 3109 Plant Water Road,Knoxville,Tennessee,37914
Shift & Schedule: D1 and D2 schedules available:
- Days 1 Shift | Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 5:00AM - 5:15PM
- Days 2 Shift | Friday, Saturday, and Sunday 5:00AM - 5:15PM
Overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of mechanical and electrical manufacturing equipment while meeting productivity requirements and maintaining KDP's high standards in safety, quality, and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and perform reactive maintenance on LGV/AGV automation systems, including mechanical, electrical, controls, sensors, and safety components to quickly restore equipment to service.
- Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on Central Palletizing equipment, including stretch wrappers, labelers, conveyors, and other automated control systems.
- Serve as the primary technical resource for the site's automation systems, ensuring fleet reliability and leading root cause analysis for recurring equipment failures.
- Complete preventive maintenance activities on LGV/AGV equipment, battery charging systems, and related automation assets on weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annual schedules.
- Utilize system diagnostics, logs, and performance data to identify trends, predict failures, and improve equipment reliability.
- Support automation system recovery by diagnosing faults, resetting equipment, and coordinating with operations to minimize downtime.
- Maintain automation spare parts inventory, ensuring critical components are available and replenished as needed.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and preventive maintenance using SAP or a comparable CMMS.
- Partner with engineering, vendors, and cross-functional teams to resolve complex technical issues and implement long-term reliability improvements.
- Provide technical guidance and support to operations and maintenance team members while helping develop automation expertise across the site.
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives through root cause analysis, reliability-centered maintenance, and asset performance optimization.
- Champion a safe work environment by following all safety policies, procedures, and best practices.
Total Rewards:
- Starting pay:$35.11 per hour. The employee will move to a higher rate of $37.00 per hour in the quarter after their 6-month anniversary.

Requirements:
- Experience troubleshooting and repairing industrial electrical and mechanical systems, including motors, drives, bearings, sensors, PLC-controlled equipment, and automated systems.
- Demonstrated ability to independently diagnose and repair industrial automation equipment in a manufacturing or distribution environment.
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with experience conducting root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
- Experience executing preventive maintenance programs and supporting equipment reliability initiatives.
- Working knowledge of SAP PM or other computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Ability to interpret automation diagnostics, system logs, and equipment performance data.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across operations, engineering, and maintenance teams.
- Self-motivated with excellent organizational skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Willingness to learn and support LGV/AGV systems and emerging warehouse automation technologies.
