Location: 3109 Plant Water Road,Knoxville,Tennessee,37914

Shift & Schedule. This position supports a Monday–Friday schedule from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required based on business needs.

The Process Engineer will support the Knoxville Manufacturing Site and report to the Senior Manager of Operations. This role plays a key part in identifying and eliminating waste across manufacturing operations. The Process Engineer will drive operational excellence through structured problem-solving, lean methodologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate is passionate about optimizing processes, reducing variability, and improving productivity in a collaborative, hands-on manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify and eliminate the eight wastes of lean manufacturing (downtime, defects, overproduction, motion, inventory, waiting, transportation, and underutilized talent)
  • Lead and support structured problem-solving efforts (A3, 5 Whys, Fishbone, etc.) to drive root cause analysis and implement sustainable corrective actions
  • Facilitate and participate in kaizen events, Gemba walks, and other continuous improvement activities
  • Monitor, analyze, and interpret process performance data to identify trends and improvement opportunities
  • Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance, and Quality teams to implement process improvements that enhance safety, quality, and throughput
  • Support development and implementation of standard work and visual management systems
  • Assist in training frontline team members on lean tools and continuous improvement practices
  • Promote and sustain a strong culture of continuous improvement throughout the facility

Total Rewards:
  • Targeted annual compensation range of $77,000–$97,000.
  • This is a salaried, exempt position paid biweekly. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience.

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
  • Strong knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement tools
  • Experience with structured problem-solving methodologies
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and influence teams at all levels
  • Hands-on, action-oriented mindset with a focus on results
  • Basic understanding of mechanical and/or electrical systems is a plus
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull up to 50 lbs repeatedly
