KDP Ireland has an opportunity for an experienced Quality Engineer to join our team on a contract basis. This will be a global based role working with teams in Ireland and the US. 

This is a 12-month contract position.

What you will do:

  • Support the business to ensure team alignment and execution of KDP Food Safety and Quality Management System expectations and requirements
  • Support Sr. Quality Engineers in the development and implementation of corporate Quality, Food Safety and Regulatory Compliance requirements of all raw materials
  • Ensure correct qualification, validation and/or verification of new and existing suppliers as per KDP standards working with various QEHS teams and R&D
  • Ongoing development, improvement and review of Supplier Quality policies and procedures
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to maintain robust supplier chemical management programs and practices that reduce risk and deliver compliance to KDP. Support the Chemical Working Group.
  • Software scanning of potential issues that may affect our raw materials and/or finished product incorporating this information to risk assessments
  • Management of Approved Supplier List across the network
  • Reporting on performance metrics periodically, communicating through different forms across the organization
  • Data analysis, interpretation and reporting of performance metrics
  • Integration of quality management systems to achieve alignment across the business networks
  • Ensure compliance with policies so that the performance and quality of services conform to established standards and agency guidelines
  • Provide Corporate Quality Assurance support to manufacturing operations team ensuring strong cross-functional communications and guidance on KDP quality standards
  • Perform other duties including project support as requested by management

Requirements

To be successful in this role, we are looking for someone with: 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Food Science/Technology, Chemistry, Food Engineering or equivalent is required.
  • 5+ years’ experience with Food Safety and Quality System management responsibilities in the Beverage Industry (Juices, CSD, Water, Coffee, Dairy).
  • Ability to build and reinforce quality acumen for self and others driving a quality culture
  • Experience in large scale beverage/food processing
  • Experience with GFSI standards and FDA regulations
  • Experience with food manufacturing processes from a process controls, food safety/regulatory, sanitation, environmental, and microbiological standpoint. 
  • Experience contributing to strategic planning and leading initiative that contribute to process improvements within the function
  • Knowledge of analytical test procedures and the ability to communicate effectively with 3rd party labs
  • Knowledge of quality systems and industry best practices
  • Proven track record of successful regulatory compliance, audits and reports (SQF/FSSC 22000, FDA FSMA, HACCP Principles, PCQI)
  • Excellent communication, verbal and written skills
  • Ability to influence stakeholders at all levels and to manage complex projects
  • Ability to travel internationally
