Job Overview:

The HR Compliance Operations and Legal Affairs Manager will be key in the creation of processes and practices to improve the day-to-day efficiency and effectiveness of the KDP Labor & Employment and HR Compliance teams.  This position will be responsible for a wide array of operational matters, including streamlining HR/L&E Compliance delivery to the business; managing a calendar of global changes in regulations and ensuring KDP is prepared to update policies as needed; in conjunction with the Employee Relations, Employee Litigation and Corporate Security teams, creating and maintaining processes to track and meaningfully report on Company trends on an array of matters, such as employee litigation and pre-litigation matters, hotline complaints, workplace violence incidents, etc. This position will help drive initiatives related to project management, process improvement and long-term strategy for the L&E Team and Legal Department as a whole.  The role is expected to generate innovative ideas and solutions, adapt to changing priorities and business requirements, proactively identify areas of need, and generate and execute related action plans.  

The HR Compliance Operations and Legal Affairs Manager is responsible for the functions below, in addition to other duties as assigned:

  • Using technology resources, partner with HR Compliance team to track and manage a calendar of changes in regulations across KDP’s jurisdictions and ensure KDP’s policies are compliant, and if not, analyze statute/regulations to prepare an updated policy for HR Compliance team to implement
  • Manage tracking of employment litigation and pre-litigation matters in the Company’s case management software
  • With other leaders on the L&E team, including Employee Relations and Corporate Security, develop robust analytical reporting of trends across data the team collects (along with data from HR) in order to better proactively understand risks in the enterprise, with a goal to reducing overall litigation, reducing theft and making KDP’s work place safer.
  • Design, implement and oversee a long-term strategic roadmap leveraging the data collected by the various functions in the L&E team to assess and improve overall ROI of the team’s work, and ensure that the team’s use of technology maximizes our ROI to the business
  • Identify, implement and manage technologies/platforms to support the L&E function, including, but not limited to, case management programs, compliance tracking and sample policy platforms, etc., while ensuring coordination and efficiency with other functions in the Legal Department.
  • Partner with other groups in the Legal and HR departments to report on key operational and substantive metrics/KPIs that will better inform key decision-making
  • Assist department personnel with technical and training support as needed

Requirements:
  • Bachelors or equivalent degree with a focus in Business, finance organizational management or another applicable area
  • At least five years’ experience in corporate legal operations or law firm equivalent
  • Proficiency in financial budgeting and spend process
  • Proficiency in data analysis and ability to synthesize large amounts of various kinds of data and succinctly report conclusions to executives
  • Experience in various legal technologies, including case management software and HR compliance tracking software, and experience managing vendors of the same
  • Demonstrated ability to track and manage multiple deadlines while staying organized, efficient, positive and focused
  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills
  • Desire to proactively partner and collaborate with peers to improve efficiency and effectiveness
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, assertively, resourcefully and proactively in a fast-paced environment
  • Positive attitude and challenger mindset with a willingness to pitch in and find the best way to get the job done
