Corporate Counsel

Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) is seeking an attorney with experience in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating real estate contracts. This role will focus primarily on supporting the company's real estate transactions and logistics operations, including contract review, drafting, negotiation, and regulatory compliance.

The position will require knowledge of standard contractual terms with strong drafting skills and a business mindset. This is a challenging, highly visible role that requires collaboration with various functions throughout the company. This role will provide ample opportunities to learn, be challenged, and grow professionally in a fast-paced environment.

What you will do:

  • Support the real estate and logistics functions in the review, drafting, and negotiation of a large variety and volume of agreements, including leases, purchase agreements, amendments, subordinate agreements, carrier agreements and other forms of transportation agreements.
  • Advise on a variety of legal and regulatory matters in support of the company's real estate and logistics operations including policies and procedures related to these functions.
  • Partner with business stakeholders to ensure company understanding of and compliance with relevant federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidelines governing the company's real estate and logistics operations.
  • Provide legal advice on contractual dispute matters, including breach and termination.
  • Operate independently to manage relationships with many business counterparts to understand their challenges and help develop solutions.
  • Spot issues related to the areas highlighted above and keep abreast of the latest developments in the industry.
  • Collaborate efficiently and effectively across legal and business functions in a manner that adds value, balances risk and protects the company’s reputation.
  • Participate as the legal representative on various cross-functional projects and initiatives and work collaboratively with key functional groups within KDP.

Requirements:
  • Juris Doctor from an accredited institution
  • Years of legal experience: 5-10
  • At least five years of legal experience in complex contract drafting and negotiation and/or experience advising clients on real estate and logistics matters at a law firm or as part of an in-house corporate legal department
  • Knowledge of requirements for real estate and logistics operations
  • Nimble thinker, collaborative, and comfortable with change
  • Law firm and/or corporate legal department experience
