As Senior Process Engineer, you’ll help shape the next generation of Keurig coffee systems, turning ideas into scalable processes from lab to pilot to plant, so we deliver better beverages, faster and more sustainably for every consumer.

This role will enable Keurig Dr Pepper to maximize the impact of Future Keurig Coffee Systems to consumers, customers, partners, and other key stakeholders. The individual in this role will:

  1. Lead the design, development and scale up of coffee processing systems – including, but not limited to, roasting, drying, milling and coating
  2. Identify, test, and deliver innovations, process strategies and methods that improve product quality, cost-of-goods, manufacturing efficiency and overall system performance, partnering closely with R&D functions, Appliance Engineering and Supply Chain
  3. Represent KDP with third-party partners (vendors, OEMs and manufacturers), ensuring KDP requirements are captured in specifications and agreements, and that deliverables meet our standards

POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:

The role bridges process engineering and product development to define the critical-to-quality and critical-to-process factors (CTQs/CTPs). The Senior Process Engineer designs with scale in mind, considers sustainable process controls throughout, and integrates internal and external expertise to accelerate research into reliable manufacturing capability.

Responsibilities include:

  • Drive end-to-end product-to-process development, taking concepts from lab to pilot to commercial scale production
  • Set process specifications and process controls by identifying critical-to-quality/critical-to-process factors and the associated limits and maintains process documentation (Diagrams, FMEAs, HACCP, HAZOP/HAZID actions, SOPs, batch/recipe parameters).
  • Have strong knowledge of process engineering fundamentals (e.g. mass and energy balances, development of PFDs/P&IDs, SPC charts and other process evaluation/monitoring methods)
  • Have knowledge of experimental design and analysis (DoE) – this may include, factorial and response-surface methods, space-filling and optimal designs (e.g., Latin hypercube, D-optimal), and model/physics-informed approaches (e.g., MBDoE, Gaussian-process surrogates, Bayesian design/optimisation)
  • Uses data analysis and modelling to quantify performance (e.g. yield, CoV, cycle time, energy/water use) and to prioritise improvements
  • Development of experimental plans with process engineering, appliance, packaging and manufacturing teams to test new technologies, assess feasibility and obtain consumer feedback
  • Create and drive timelines, actions plans, reports, and presentations to manage and communicate progress. Make sound technical recommendations, influencing key stakeholders within the business.
  • Educate cross functional partners on technical and scientific principles as necessary
  • Represent beverage technical considerations including quality, stability, food safety, manufacturability, functionality in appliance and sensory.

Requirements:
  • Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering (preferred) or Mechanical Engineering, Materials Science, or a closely related discipline. Master’s degree and/or PhD is advantageous
  • 6+ years of relevant professional experience, preferably within industries with significant particle technology applications (e.g., chemicals, foods, consumer products, pharmaceuticals)
  • Strong competence with some analytical tools and software (e.g., JMP, Minitab, Python, AutoCAD, MATLAB, CFD modeling software such as Ansys Fluent or COMSOL Multiphysics) for data analysis, interpretation, and visualization
  • Strong team player; experience in bringing teams/individuals/your skillset together to deliver projects; strong thought and executional leadership
