The EHS Manager is accountable for development and execution of programs that provide our employees with a safe workplace and minimizes impact to our environment; influences people to achieve a strong and engaged safety culture; leads a process that assures compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations; implements a sustainable environmental, health and safety management systems and drives EHS performance improvement.
Location: This position is based at our Burlington, MA location (HQ office & R&D facility). Up to 20% travel is required.
What you will do:
- Manage all EHS aspects and impacts at KDP's Burlington, MA campus. Support of varying operations and initiatives for both R&D and Supply Chain teams is also required.
- Culture & Change Champion; inspire team members to appreciate and be accountable for our safety culture. Create leadership governance mechanisms to drive the sustained engagement and support of senior leadership.
- Develop environmental, safety and industrial hygiene plans, programs, and procedures that result in compliance with local, State, and federal regulations (OSHA, EPA, MA, TX etc.) and conform with Company policies; Maintains a system for reporting, monitoring, and correcting serious EHS concerns.
- Serves as primary liaison between applicable regulatory and government agencies (City of Burlington, States of MA and TX, and various Federal agencies); Oversees health & safety, environmental, audits of facilities and recommends corrective measures; Ensures all significant near misses, injuries, and EHS events are investigated and abatement measures implemented.
- Perform employee injury and illness case management in collaboration with Human Resources and Risk Management. Ensure employees receive care, perform investigation activities, support workers compensation elements and submit reports required by regulatory agencies (OSHA log etc.).
- Develops and implements training programs that lead to increased proficiency in safe work practices, promote safety consciousness, assures environmental compliance and advance continuous improvement
- Drive implementation of strategic EHS initiatives; identifies elements of change required to support the EHS strategy; encourages leadership team to balance short-term demands with long term benefits of strategic EHS programs.
- Establish processes that lead to the reduction of incident rates, severity and environmental impacts while also reducing company costs (e.g., amount of workers compensation, etc.); establishes order and priority for EHS initiatives and drives their implementation in cooperation of leadership and stakeholders.
- Establishes and measure specific safety and health goals and objectives for the company and departments ensuring the targets are consistent with corporate strategies and objectives.
- Analyzes safety and environmental processes throughout facility; seek to identify opportunities for improvement; identify incident root cause; recommend changes to workflow, equipment or other processes; and implement support systems/processes (I.e. safety rewards and recognitions, safety communications, etc.) to achieve safety objectives.
- Communicate and celebrate successes and foster company-wide commitment to safety and continuous environmental improvement.
- Formulates, maintains and executes Keurig Dr Pepper emergency plans and responds to safety and employee emergencies. Complies with Keurig Dr Pepper policies and procedures.
- Manage a wastewater treatment system at the Burlington, MA location with a Massachusetts Water Resources Authority (MWRA) permit.
- Manage hazardous chemical storage (Tier II), use, and release to the environment (TRI). Manage hazardous materials reporting to the City of Burlington, MA, the State of Texas (STEERS) and other agencies.
- Manage petroleum bulk storage and a SPCC plan.
- Manage applicable Storm Water requirements at the Burlington site.
- Manage the storage and disposal of RCRA hazardous waste.
- Participate in meetings and activities with KDP's global EHS teams, collaborate across the company to achieve engagement and world class results for the organization.
Total Rewards:
- Salary Range: $96,800 - $133,000
- Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors

- Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility

Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety, Environmental, Engineering, Physical Science or the equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
- Professional Certification such as ASP/CSP or CIH preferred
- Minimum 3-5-yrs related experience in safety, health and environmental program implementation, preferably in a manufacturing or lab environment.
- Computer proficiency, Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and EHS information systems.
- Hands-on experience in developing and maintaining OSHA and EPA compliance with emphasis on employee involvement.
- Understanding of OSHA, EPA and DOT regulations.
- Training Instructor experience with the ability to prepare concise, understandable documentation, technical writing, and lesson plan development.
- Excellent communication skills, verbal and written.
- Ability to prioritize work tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Demonstrated ability to improve safety, health and environmental performance and influence coworkers at multiple levels within an organization.
- Ability to periodically support activities outside of core hours.
- Ability to travel up to 30%
