Job Overview:

Shift: N2; Thur., Fri. Sat.;  Alternating Wed. 5:00 PM- 5:15AM

The Maintenance Technician I is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a variety of mechanical and electrical manufacturing equipment, while meeting productivity requirements and maintaining KDP’s high standards in safety and quality.

What You Will Do:

  • Perform mechanical troubleshooting and basic repairs on production and packaging equipment.
  • Complete routine preventive maintenance tasks, including lubrication, adjustments, inspections, and part replacements.
  • Assist with equipment setups, changeovers, and minor adjustments to support daily production needs.
  • Partner with operators to resolve simple equipment issues and ensure smooth line operation.
  • Follow all lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures to safely isolate equipment before performing maintenance.
  • Utilize the inventory ERP system to accurately transact parts from MRO inventory to work orders when performing repairs.
  • Conduct proper return-to-service checks to ensure equipment is restored safely, operates correctly, and meets food safety and quality requirements before production resumes.
  • Document maintenance activities in the computerized maintenance management system (CMMS).
  • Use maintenance manuals, diagrams, and basic schematics to identify parts and follow repair steps.
  • Maintain tools, work areas, and equipment in a clean, safe, and organized condition to support food safety and GMP standards.
  • Collaborate with senior technicians on more complex repairs and learn advanced troubleshooting techniques.
  • Follow all company safety, quality, and operational procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the maintenance team and plant operations

Total Rewards:
  • Pay starting at $34.31 per hour. The employee will move to a higher rate of $36.06 per hour in the quarter after their 6-month anniversary. 
  • Average Shift Premium for N2: $1.94/hr

Requirements:
  • General mechanical aptitude and hands-on experience in mechanical repair.
  • Ability to read and understand basic repair instructions, diagrams, and simple schematics.
  • Comfort using computers for email, documentation, and parts lookup.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Willingness to learn and develop technical skills in an industrial setting.

Preferred (Not Required):

  • Experience working in a manufacturing, food and beverage, or packaging environment.
  • Exposure to mechanical or electrical troubleshooting in an industrial setting.
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs or CMMS systems.
  • Basic understanding of control systems, motors, or servo-driven equipment
