Production Planner
Location: 14955 Truman Street, Ottumwa, IA 52501

The Production Planner plays a critical role in ensuring consistent and efficient product supply at the manufacturing plant. This position is responsible for developing and executing operational plans that deliver the right products in the right quantities, to the right locations, at the right time—while optimizing inventory levels and resource usage.

Working in an SAP-driven environment, the Production Planner creates production schedules that support service level goals and supply chain efficiency. Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for managing internal and external supply and availability issues.

Shift & Schedule: Full-time | Monday–Friday, standard business hours
Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed is required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and manage daily, weekly, and long-term production schedules.

  • Plan and coordinate raw material availability in alignment with production needs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including finance, quality, operations, and sales to ensure alignment on supply planning.

  • Train and support team members to ensure adherence to planning best practices and standards.

  • Maintain inventory levels in accordance with Min/Max policies and service level expectations.

  • Manage and adapt to organizational change in a dynamic environment.

  • Apply commercial and supply chain knowledge to improve efficiency and responsiveness.

  • Identify and lead continuous improvement initiatives across planning processes.

  • Use analytical skills to support decision-making and problem resolution.

  • Ensure strong customer service through effective communication and responsiveness.

    • This is an exempt, salaried position paid on a biweekly basis. Compensation is flexible and determined based on the candidate’s experience

Requirements:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or a related field preferred; equivalent relevant experience considered.

  • Experience & Skills:

    • Experience with production and raw material planning.

    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.

    • Experience with SAP or other MRP systems preferred.

    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.

    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

    • Demonstrated ability to work effectively across diverse teams and cultures.

    • Financial and commercial acumen.

    • Coaching and team development skills.

    • Passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence.

    • Flexible and open-minded approach to challenges and change.
