Shipping & Receiving Specialist
The Shipping & Receiving Specialist is responsible for shipping, receiving, returns, carrier relations, order management, product management and customer service. Assumes prompt, accurate, and systematic handling of finished goods and raw materials orders while providing outstanding customer service
Shift and Schedule:
This is a full time position on 1st shift, Monday - Friday, from 5:00am - 1:30pm. Flexibility to work overtime, weekends, and holidays is required as scheduled.
Position Responsibilities
- Reports confirmation of daily loads to ensure no material shortages
- Ensures proper handling and storage practices in facility
- Conduct and assists with supplier pallet audits
- Print and post pick tickets, inbound dock schedule, and STO reports for shift and next production day
- Check in and out truck drivers in a timely manner using Carrier Point (logistics software used by Ryder)
- Assign material handlers or shipping and receiving personnel to load or unload trucks (provide assistance when needed)
- Ensure outbound loads are being loaded accurately and proper paperwork is being completed
- Communicate missing/late inbound loads to inventory control and production planner
- Maintain 5s standards in the warehouse/production areas and other cleaning duties as required
- Review trailer inventory from WD yard report and production needs
- Issuing and verifying HUM labels for assigned production and shipments
- Conduct root cause analysis
- Report building and mechanical dock information to maintenance for repairs
- Actively participate in internal Kaizen events
- Execute new approaches/procedures to effect continual improvements in the efficiency and effectiveness of the department and services performed
- Assists in cycle counts and year-end inventory take activities
- Provide coverage for inventory control, shipping and receiving, and material handlers as needed
- Help shipping and receiving clerks and material handlers with tasks as needed to meet OEE goals
- Communicate any delays in loading to carriers and customers
- Unload incoming raw materials and ingredients
- Train new employees

Requirements:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED)
- Forklift Certified a plus
- 2 years logistics or shipping/ receiving experience
- Proficient in math
- Oral and Written communication skills (English) Bilingual in Spanish a plus
- Familiar with SAP or similar software
- Proficient in Excel and Microsoft word
- Lift, push, and pull a minimum of 60 pounds repeatedly, walking and standing for long period of time.
