Delivery Manager - Northlake, IL
The Delivery Manager is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of all distribution activities for assigned area. Manager is responsible for overseeing the supervising of delivery drivers and the evaluation of distribution activities. Accountable for subordinate supervisors of Delivery Drivers.
The ideal candidate will possess a proven track record of successful continuous improvement initiatives and cost and management results. Will have strong leadership skills; excellent verbal and written skills along with experience presenting to regional leadership teams, local leadership teams, and front line employees. Must have knowledge of Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal, State, and Environmental, Health Safety (EHS) compliance.
Position Responsibilities
- Develop processes and procedures to help standardization, and, through coordination with distribution department personnel and with other functional areas, execute the implementation of such policies.
- Problem Solving & Troubleshooting: Identify issues through data and root cause analysis, make recommendations, and execute action plans and continuous improvement within the distribution department. Develop solutions that support the Advance Sales group.
- Performance Management: Develops the distribution department by assessing employee performance, counseling, and training to support continuous improvement and individual growth. Prepare for and execute performance review meetings with distribution supervisors.
- Project Management: Develops improvement plans with branch support and helps to manage and direct all projects within cost and timeline objectives.
- Oversee driver performance and take proper disciplinary steps as necessary.
- Training and evaluating DOT drivers.
- Ultimately responsible for accurate deliveries and excellent customer service.
- Monitor the team to ensure vehicles are well maintained and that related repairs and safety issues are addressed in a timely manner.
Total Rewards:
- $90,000 - $110,000 / year
- Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors

- Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility
Requirements:
- High school diploma or general equivalency diploma (GED) preferred
- Five years delivery/distribution experience in a direct store delivery (DSD) environment
- Two years management/supervisory experience
- Two years customer service experience in a DSD environment
- Ability to perform physical tasks with repetitive lifting of up to 50 lbs. for consecutive hours to provide training
