Job Overview:

Reporting to the Manager of Supply Chain Finance & FP&A in Canada and partnering closely with financial analysts both locally and internationally, this role is a key member of the Finance team. The Financial Analyst will support both Supply Chain Finance and FP&A activities through budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, performance analysis, and business planning, with a focus on ingredient, packaging material, co-manufacturing, transportation, and warehousing costs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Strategic Responsibilities 25%

  • Act as a key finance business partner to the Canadian Supply Chain team, including Procurement, Logistics, and Operations teams.
  • Support broader FP&A activities including monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, long-range planning, and financial performance analysis.
  • Assist the Manager of Supply Chain Finance & FP&A in preparing financial presentations, management reporting packages, and ad hoc business analyses for leadership teams.
  • Serve as the primary liaison for Canada Dry Mott’s Inc. Canada (CDMI Canada) cost information with global business partners, including Finance teams in the US, Mexico, and other international markets.
  • Collaborate closely with the broader Canadian Finance team to support business objectives and financial initiatives.
  • Support cross-functional teams by providing raw material, co-manufacturing, transportation, and warehousing cost information for new product launches and innovation projects.
  • Contribute to the financial analysis of key initiatives related to ingredients, packaging, logistics, transportation, warehousing, and co-manufacturing costs.
  • Develop forecasts for supply chain-related expenses, including raw materials, freight, storage, and co-packing costs, and analyze variances throughout budgeting and forecasting cycles.
  • Identify and communicate financial risks and opportunities related to supply chain operations to management in a timely manner.
  • Develop a strong understanding of CDMI Canada’s supply chain cost structure to effectively model, analyze, and explain operational costs.

Operational Responsibilities 75%

  • Support the annual standard cost calculation process by assessing the reasonableness of raw material and co-manufacturer cost data provided by the Procurement team.
  • Analyze cost variances by raw material category compared to previous years, as part of forecasting and budgeting.
  • Analyze the cost of raw materials received in stock on a weekly basis and track the difference between the purchase price and the standard cost and provide comments on the main differences.
  • Maintain bill of materials explosion databases and estimate raw material consumption and expenses during the budget and each forecast cycle.
  • Maintain data on expenses by supplier and purchases in foreign currencies, as well as other databases.
  • Collaborate with the Accounting team to estimate the journal entries required at the end of the month to reflect the exact cost of raw materials, including incoming freight and co-packing costs.
  • Support the collection of information for the calculation of the stewardship report by province and ensure that the monthly stewardship cost is correctly reflected in the accounts.
  • Participate in tasks related to monthly, quarterly, and annual closings.
  • Prepare monthly financial presentations, KPI reporting, variance analyses, and distribute them to the necessary business partners.
  • Support monthly financial reviews by analyzing actual results versus forecast, budget, and prior year performance.
  • Assist in consolidating and validating financial data used in forecasting and business planning processes.
  • Help respond to ad hoc requests and inquiries from our Canadian and US business partners.

Total Rewards:
  • Salary Range: CAD $67,800 - $78,100
  • Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors.
  • Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility. Benefits, subject to eligibility: medical, dental, disability, life insurance, paid time off (including vacation and personal time), RRSP with company match, tuition reimbursement, employee and family assistance program. 

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field.
  • CPA and/or CFA designation considered an asset.
  • 2–3 years of relevant finance experience, preferably within Supply Chain, Logistics, or Manufacturing Finance.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles, cost accounting, and Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with SAP, BI reporting tools, and large data analysis considered an asset.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships across Finance, Supply Chain, and senior leadership teams.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
  • Adaptable and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work flexible hours when required to support business needs.
