The Customer Team Lead is accountable for total business ownership across Loblaws (LCL) and Canadian Tire (CTC), driving profitable growth, strategic partnership, and flawless execution. This individual will be required to live and coach our values, becoming a culture model for the rest of the team.


This leader defines and delivers the retailer growth agenda, translating market, shopper, and retailer insights into clear, winning strategies and ensuring disciplined execution across the organization.
Success requires the ability to operate at the intersection of strategy, finance, and execution, leading cross-functional teams, influencing senior stakeholders, and consistently delivering results in a complex retail environment while leveraging global scale.


What You Will Own

1. Enterprise Customer Strategy

  • Define and lead the end-to-end customer strategy, aligned to retailer priorities and generating long-term category value
  • Build and execute Joint Business Plans (JBP) with clear growth ambition delivering mutual customer/KDP growth
  • Establish KDP as a strategic partner and category leader providing solutions to drive LCL and CTC market share

2. Full P&L Accountability

  • Own and deliver Net Sales, Gross Profit, and Trade Investment performance
  •  Lead pricing, promotion, and investment strategy with a rigorous ROI mindset
  • Anticipate and manage risks across demand, supply, and financial performance

3. Senior Stakeholder Influence & Negotiation

  • Build trusted, senior-level relationships at the retailer, ensuring a robust understanding of LCL/CTC priorities, market conditions and solutions-oriented mindset
  • Lead complex, high-stakes negotiations that create mutual value
  • Influence customer strategy by bringing forward insight-led, commercially grounded recommendations

4. Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Collaborate with internal teams: RGM, Supply Chain, and Commercialization
  • Drive accountability across teams to consistently deliver results


5. Growth Architecture & Innovation

  • Identify and unlock new growth platforms (distribution, format, digital, innovation)
  •  Expand presence across banners, formats, and shopper occasions
  •  Build integrated plans that drive both category growth and share gain


6. Team Leadership & Talent Development

  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of Key Account Managers with a strong culture aligned to the KDP and sales team values
  • Build capability, accountability, and succession pipeline
  • Create a culture of ownership, transparency, and performance

Total Rewards:

CAD $105,700 - $137,500 annually.

Actual placement within the compensation range may vary depending on experience, skills, and other factors. Annual bonus based on performance and eligibility. Benefits, subject to eligibility: medical, dental, disability, life insurance, paid time off (including vacation and personal time), RRSP with company match, tuition reimbursement, employee and family assistance program, and coffee discount.

Qualifications

  • 7–10+ years of CPG experience with national or key account leadership
  • Proven success managing large, complex retailers in Canada (Loblaws, Walmart, Canadian Tire, or equivalent), Loblaws experience considered an asset
  • Strong track record of P&L ownership and delivering growth
  • Advanced capability in negotiation, analytics, and cross-functional leadership
