Job Overview:

Keurig Dr Pepper (KDP) is looking for a proven highly motivated, analytically minded Category Management professional to join its Target Category Management team.

The Sr. Category Manager plays a valuable role in maintaining and building strong partnerships with Target by providing strategic, consultative category guidance and execution to deliver market leading growth for Target & KDP’s categories. This individual will be a leader on the team, responsible for a large KDP Captaincy and committed to building relationships in non-captain Categories. This person will conduct high quality analysis, converting that into growth driving strategies that can be executed through Captaincy. Must have a strong understanding of Target’s operational environment, and strong communication & influence skills to orchestrate action within the operational realities of Target’s retail environment.

This position is located at our downtown Minneapolis, MN office.  Hybrid schedule: 3 days in the office and 2 days work from home on weekly basis

What you will do:

  • Develop and cultivate business relationships with Target key contacts establishing Keurig Dr Pepper as an indispensable partner for all category management needs
  • Deliver fully integrated consumer, shopper, category and marketplace insights and trends to guide Target’s strategic choices and tactical executions to drive market leading growth for the short and long term
  • Conduct robust analysis using research, category management capabilities, analytical tools, and data visualization to identify and communicate business opportunities or challenges
  • Collaborate with multiple internal cross-functional teams and the Target merchant team to deliver growth opportunities, develop both strategic and tactical solutions, and ensure POG accuracy and compliance
  • Plan and execute inline and salesplan planogram transitions and revisions with the Target merchant team
  • Provide category reporting, trend analysis, customized reports, and special project work directly to the Target merchant team
  • Leverage critical thinking and problem-solving skills to recognize and anticipate issues and opportunities by elevating analyses beyond reporting and translate insight into retail action
  • Serve as the expert on all things category to cross-functional team members

Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s Degree + Category Captaincy experience, MBA preferred
  • 3+ years CPG business experience in category management
  • Experience with space moves at Target preferred
  • Additional CPG business experience in alternate functions preferred
  • Exceptional communication skills – verbal, written, presentation and follow-through
  • Demonstrated skills in POS and syndicated report building using IRI, NPD and/or Nielsen
  • Demonstrated skills in data analytics and presentation building & delivery
  • Strength in leveraging facts and insights to build compelling stories with actionable recommendations
  • Proven track record of results delivery with demonstrated ability to build collaborative & influential partnerships with the customer and internal business partners
  • Experience with Syndicated data systems (IRI, NDP, Nielsen), retailer-specific POS (Vendor IQ) and guest data (Buyer Dashboard)
  • Advanced proficiency in JDA Space Planning software building Planograms
